here are the instructions! no instructions provided, but once you figure it out, works great
Unbelievably, no instructions are provided on how to make it usable as a three hole punch.I could not find any online diagrams or advice. This is what I figured out in about an hour of fiddling about:1. Unscrew and take out two of the five punches. You have to take off the split ring on the column first, or the punch will not slide off. The ring is there to prevent the punches from sliding off.2. You do need a pretty wide screwdriver to loosen and tighten the screws, wider than the normal kind. Maybe you can use a kitchen tool or a big coin.3. You have to play with the paper back stops on the leftmost and rightmost punches so the paper stops at the right place. Very weird for the manufacturer to not pre-mark the standard place. This took the most time, fiddling with the back stops.4. You might need a plier to hold the square washer in place while you screw and unscrew the screws. This was awkward and time consuming.Once you figure it out, it works great. If you do the above, then it won’t “flip over.”I think many people were frustrated and understandably returned it to Amazon. The manufacturer should have provided a one page illustratedvinstruction sheet!I will never use a 9/32 punch again: 11/32 makes the paper pages in a binder so much easier to flip through! This was a revelation, that 11/32 is a superior hole size!

Some assembly required
It never occurred to me that I would have to take this apart and put it back together. I wrongly assumed that it would come already set up for five-hole punching, for 8 1/2 * 11 inch paper. I was wrong, and at first I was very frustrated. I took a chance, took it apart, and put it back together again. Now, I love it. Buy it, but know - there is Some Assembly Required.

Defective manufacture
1. Item came in a damaged box held together by packing tape, and the hole punch itself had been wrapped in a beat-up manila envelope instead of any kind of packing material. (I think it must have been returned at least once before.)2. One of the adjustable bore heads couldn't possibly line up with the markings on the base, showing where the center of each hole would be (the bore head couldn't align because it was up against the lever arm), so the holes would not have been right.3. The two outer bore heads had strange pieces on them that (I think) were guards to give an edge to put the papers against, providing a consistent distance from the edge of the paper to the hole. BUT the two guards were at different depths and no amount of tinkering got them to be the same, so the holes weren't vertical.4. There is NO WAY this could punch < 40 pages at one time. I'd guess maybe six, at most.5. The punched paper didn't fall into the catch tray, it just stayed stuck in the bore head.6. Had to return it.The only good thing I can say about this is that it is good and heavy.

Wow! Works as hard as I do!
Feels solid. I love to lean on the handle but it does not punch an unlimited number of paper.. more like 20 or 30

Works amazing!
I got this for my office space and it works beautifully. The only issue I have with it. Is if you use too much pressure when you push down the hole punch flips over.
