Not exactly soy sauce - it’s better
Oh, this is some good stuff. I included a photo. I tasted my original recipe and ate most of it before I remembered to take the photo. Oops! The taste is almost like a mildly sweet, smoky, soy sauce. The taste is not identical to soy sauce.I have been struggling with lowering both my salt and sugar intake.Food was quite bland. I lost weight on the bland diet, but surely food doesn’t have to be bland?I stumbled across this Coconut Secret Coconut Aminos Sauce original flavor and decided to try it. This is a great item for home and camping. I eat too much pre-packaged high salt food when I camp.My concern was that it would be too salty as a soy sauce substitute or too sweet or coconut flavored because of the coconut.I read the marketing which checked all the boxes that met my dietary needs:Low glycemic index -35Nutritionally rich - vitamins, minerals, amino acids (protein molecules)Zero fatVery low carb - 1 gram per teaspoonLow sodium - 90 mg per teaspoon (you’ll be shocked at the amount of sodium in regular soy sauce)Then the 100% organicGluten-freeNon GMONo MSGVeganI created a recipe of Kirkland Stir- Fry vegetables, chopped stir fried beef for fajitas ordered from Whole Foods, and two strips of pre-cooked bacon strips. Keto folks would probably use other veggies but these veggies were perfect for my needs.Because all the ingredients were prepared in advance the meal was ready in about 20 minutes total from start to finish.I threw the frozen veggies into a skillet to cover the bottom of the skillet in one layer with 3 tablespoons of grape seed oil, put a lid on it, let it cook on medium heat until no longer frozen, added the pre-cooked meats and stirred. Added a tablespoon of Coconut Secret Coconut Aminos sauce, stirred again, turned the heat low and put a lid on it for a few minutes until everything was hot. I sprinkled a little bit of freshly grated pink sea salt and black pepper. I tasted my work of art. The food was delicious. Oops, forgot the photo.Ate the rest. You can add more or less sauce. Most of the oil stayed in the pan so you could use less oil or go 100 percent vegan. My point is that although the food did not taste like traditional “Chinese” takeout, the taste was delicious. Some takeout restaurants might want to consider offering this sauce option as an easy substitute on their menu. My tender tummy had no problems digesting this sauce. When tasting the sauce directly with a spoon - it doesn’t taste like much of anything. When the veggies and meat were added - that’s when the flavor revealed itself as a seasoning. I will be trying this sauce with some other recipes I will invent for it.What I liked was that I did not feel the need for rice. For me, rice is like candy. - spikes my blood sugar.Disclaimer: I used over half the bottle in other recipes where the sauce was not effective in flavoring the food. Why? Flavoring takes about a tablespoon per serving to really get flavor from this product.Adding tablespoon of coconut amino sauce per serving bumps up the salt to 270mg per serving which is far better than the 940mg per tablespoon of my delicious but not heart friendly Organic Tamari gluten free soy sauce. My spouse dumped a lot of soy sauce on his mixed veggies some months ago and had a heart arrhythmia attack. He was unsure if the soy sauce was the cause, but he stopped using the soy sauce. If you are concerned that your loved ones won’t accept the change from soy sauce - just tell the truth that it’s a new recipe and use more coconut secret coconut Aminos sauce until the flavor is strong enough for their palates. Add pink sea salt because they will be used to the saltiness of soy sauce. I’m quite sure you will add far less than traditional soy salt per serving.A teaspoon of salt has 2325 milligrams. 940mg per tablespoon of soy sauce divided into 2325mg is approximately 2 and a half tablespoons of soy sauce.A teaspoon of salt is far more than a person needs in a whole day. Then there is salt hidden in other foods - like the bacon I added. When a business offers a food product that helps me to age healthier, that’s a product that I want.I also learned that in China - their food is not loaded with soy sauce. Americans want salt and sugar. Don’t blame the Chinese. That’s my somewhat unusual review and I hope you found it helpful. I hope the recipe gets you off to a faster start. I will be experimenting with barbecue next.

No more soy!
I love a bit of soy sauce in lots of dishes, but I have a thyroid condition which dictates that I avoid soy. This is the perfect substitute! It is very, very good and I will be buying it again when I run out!

A godsend to those with soy sensitivities
Coconut Aminos is a godsend! I love Asian food, but I'm soy sensitive and have issues with oils and sauces in most Asian foods. I read about the coconut aminos and decided to give it a try. The reviewers were right, it's a wonderful replacement for soy sauce. It's link of like a mix between soy and teriyaki. It has a slight hint of sweetness, not as strong as teriyaki, but more so than just plan soy sauce. I've used it in a couple of Asian dishes and like it so much better than soy sauce. I'm happy with this little find.

Love this!
One of the best! Reason I bought this through amazon is because it did not sell in any stores near my home. One of my friend suggested me this since I love soy on my rice and cauliflower rice, but I was concern due to my high blood pressure so I switched to this small size to test out, wow I must tell you this taste so so so good!! and very low sodium than any soy sauce I ever seen. Even beats Bragg's amino acids' sodium intake. Next purchase will be in bigger size because my husband really likes it.

I prefer it over regular soy sauce
I bought this after seeing some people talk about it on my instant pot FB group. Seriously shocked at the flavor. I love it!!! Way more than soy sauce. My husband likes soy sauce and said it isn’t a direct comparison but if you needed to cut soy sauce out of your life it would be okay. I personally never loved soy sauce. So this is awesome find. And huge bonus, way better for your health.

My new soy sauce!!!
I bought another brand at walmart that was disgusting. The other brand was having the price, thick and sweet. I got this purchase in the mail the same day. This bottle was wrapped in bubble wrap and then surrounded by the puffer inserts they put in boxes. Arrived in great condition. I was a little scared to try it but I opened the bottle and got a little on my finger. It tasted like soy sauce - yeah! I now have a healthy Alternative. The bottle from the store was emptied and trashed immediately. The other difference between this brand and the store was that this one stated it needed to be refrigerated after opening. My 11 year old was impressed and she's a picky eater.

Great alternative for those who are alergic to soy...
I get a very bad reaction to soy when I have even the slightest bit. These coconut amino taste wonderful and help me to have veggies as stir-fry again! While the flavor is absolutely fantastic and we love it, the flavor is not identical to soy sauce. Instead, in our opinion it is much more like teriyaki. But that is not a problem, it still tastes really good and has all the great benefits of aminos in it! I am reordering this because it is so good for our family. Thank you for a great product! :)
