P0128 code
Their has been check engine code on my Jetta MK4. I bought this OBD reader to find the fault code. It read P0128. Checking the website The code indicates a faulty coolant thermostat. I got the part from store and replaced it at home. It saved me at least $100 bucks. Highly recommended!

A decent OBD2 scanner
This scanner covers all the basics and a bit more for an inexpensive unit. It'll read your OBD2 trouble codes and erase them like most others. It has a built-in code library so it'll tell you right there what the code is for instead of looking it up elsewhere. It'll do I/M readiness testing which is essential if you want to pass a vehicle/emissions inspection. Lastly it can monitor live data from your vehicle's on-board computer. The only real drawback I found was with the live data reporting as the device seems to get slowed down and unresponsive when viewing information.

Nice item!
Very nice code reader, now I don't have to drive anywhere to figure out what check engine errors i have got. I can check it myself then look them up online and know exactly whats wrong with my car. Love it!

Best compact scanner for the money
Scanner connects quickly to vehicles. Allows a (1) pid to be graphed - which is good for O2 sensors, etc. Also has good backlighting for nighttime use. Compact, easy to keep in glovebox.

THIS PRODUCT IS JUNK
This product is not user friendly and if you don't know what you are looking at you will be lost. Not easy to navigate through and its super slow.
