Reliable and Effective Insulation Foam
The Great Stuff Pro Gaps & Cracks Insulating Foam Sealant has been a reliable product for my home improvement projects. This 24 oz can provides a generous amount of foam, which is great for sealing gaps and cracks around the house. The orange color makes it easy to see where the foam has been applied, ensuring complete coverage. One of the things I like most about this product is its ability to expand and fill even the smallest gaps, providing excellent insulation. It adheres well to various surfaces, including wood, metal, and masonry, and creates a solid seal that lasts. The foam dries quickly, allowing me to move on to the next step of my project without much delay.A minor downside is that the foam can be a bit messy if not applied carefully, but using the right applicator gun helps manage this. For anyone tackling insulation tasks, this foam sealant is an excellent choice. Its expansive properties, strong adhesion, and ease of use make it a valuable tool for sealing and insulating efficiently.

This stuff is great ;)
ProsAbsolutely adore great stuff. I’ve never used it in construction or plumbing settings, but it works great in aquariums/terrariums! I made the base of a terrarium background with it (WIP) and it held on well!! You can cut it off with a blade very easily, as well as just pull and scrape with your fingers. Very good at being waterproof though!!ConsIf you don’t use the whole can in one sitting, it’s really hard to get the rest out (in my experience). I had to get a whole new nozzle just to use a can that was half empty, and even then it struggled. The insides were all dry foamed up! But if you use it all, great product. (And maybe I’m just dumb and didn’t do the reuse part right lol)

No wonder they named it Great Stuff! It's awesome.
I love this Stuff! It solves so many problems for me. I have used it to build rock and concrete flower beds, stopped up holes, turned water, etc. Just a word here about "rat/mouse" resistant blow foam, which is quite expensive, compared to this product or regular Great Stuff - If you really want to keep rodents out, save yourself time and money by using steel wool every time you find an access. Put the steel wool in the hole and spray the foam into it and the hole. I learned that the hard way. This product has a "moisture cure" feature so you can apply it to damp surfaces. It is super easy to remove, and the best thing I have found to cut it is a hacksaw blade. It gives me flexibility to put things where I need them to be now, knowing I can easily move them later. I keep a couple cans on hand just in case. NOTE: Shaking the can is very important, critical actually, and should be done vigorously for several minutes. Also, I set the cans where their contents can get warm before I shake them. It can be cold outside but if the contents are warm and well-shaken you can dispense the entire can. By cold, I mean around 35 degrees Fahrenheit. ACETONE (Ladies, think nail polish remover, as most removers and contain acetone.) will clean it off your skin, just wash and apply lotion afterwards.

Does the job but be sure to use deposable gloves.

Great Stuff Pro is the real thing
Hi, in addition to being a homeowner DIYer, I have several BPI certifications and teach residential and commercial energy conservation, which includes air sealing and insulation. If you are considering using mono-component foam for more than one very small job, be aware of a few related facts. Firstly, mono-component spray foam expands very little, no matter what kind you buy. If you need more expansion, you have to get a bi-component product such as Tiger Foam (to spray wall cavities or rim/band joists). Secondly, the spray bottles you buy at the Home Depot should be used all at once and not stored for a long time before using or they get clogged. This is true even for the ones rated "reusable". Thirdly, these products are typically not fire-rated. Dow Great Stuff Pro needs its own dispenser gun. You can get the least expensive of the 3 which costs around $30 and will last you a long time if used correctly. Hence, this product is more expensive at the beginning but it has the following advantages: the foam is fire-rated; MUCH better dispensing control in terms of bead size and consistency; no overspraying when you release the trigger; the same bottle can officially stay on the gun for 1 month but users report that they are having no problems after 6 months. Two final points: spray foam is the best air sealer and insulation on the market but is expensive. For larger jobs such as open wall cavities, consider laying down no more than 1" of foam first and then adding much less expensive bat insulation on top of it. Do not underestimate how wickedly sticky this stuff is. DO NOT get it on your (good) clothing, skin, hair, glasses, etc or else. I found that Amazon is the right place to get foam and gun in terms of price and availability. This foam cures with the moisture in the air. In dry weather, moist (not soak) the cavity you want to fill with a light spray of water before applying the foam. You will get twice as much expansion and no voids.
