As long as you are using foods like nuts, whole spices You can clean it with a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth. But if you are storing any greasy liquids like oils, ghee; you can wipe the lid with a paper tissue first and a quick rinse in a mild dish soap water will be enough. Hope this answer is useful.

Broken lid

The media could not be loaded. Bought these glass jars as I wanted to do away with plastics in the kitchen, was disappointed to see that the lid has a flimsy plastic in the center. This time I ordered 4 jars , the plastic of one of the lids was broken , I think the company should replace it as the whole jar becomes useless. I wish they were a little bigger as 1 kg dal does not fit, some is always left, otherwise I like the productspecially the square shape, it stacks well in cupboards and drawers.
