I rarely do reviews, but a soundtrack this evocative deserves kudos. I feel the same way about the Drive film and soundtrack as I do about the Sling Blade film and soundtrack. I knew I was going to buy each the moment I heard the music in their opening scenes. Both films are brilliant, sweeping understatements where music isn't just afterthought but is an integral part of the story...a rare accomplishment. Brian Eno (Roxy Music, U2, DP, Talking Heads...the list goes on) was the genius in charge of the Sling Blade soundtrack. Cliff Martinez is clearly in the same company as Eno with a varied musical background as RHCP drummer and also soundtracks to Traffic, Solaris and many more. Well done, Mr. Martinez.

This soundtrack is so unique because of the tone that it gives out the listeners when their in the car. When I drive at night to this, it puts me in such a chill mood and it really gets u loving the fact that you're driving. Best quality and sound that comes out from each song that you listen to. I'm such a huge fan of this movie. I have the jacket, gloves, movie, poster, and the soundtrack. Not only did the movie itself get to me, but it's definitely thanks to the genius soundtrack put together that delivers such a remarkable feel and experience. I strongly recommend getting this soundtrack!

Absolutely love Cliff Martinez! His score for Soderbergh's Solaris quietly killed me with its perfection. The man has a deft touch and a keen ear; I'll tell you that. He knocked it out of the park with Winding Refn's Drive soundtrack/score. Elegant, sad, just plain ol' cool. And the beat! The beat! The man's a human metronome! You can set a watch to him! The movie just oozes with its many charms and the music puts it over the top. His picks to kick it off are diverse and at the same time harmonious with the overall vibe of the movie and somehow with each other. And his score would elevate any movie to greatness. Moody and sexy. Great listenin'.

The movie "Drive" is one of my five all time favorite movies for all time. Really, really enjoyed it. Alot.The movie "Dirve" gets a lot of its power from its amazing soundtrack. The sounds and music in the movie are moving, really beyond what most other movies can hope to accomplish.This soundtrack is golden. Every song is beautiful and fits well with all the others. Evocative is the one word I would use to discribe it. Feels like the eighties but without the flash, pretense, and masogeny that made us all glad to leave the eighties behind. That being said, and in the interest of full discloser, I was only alive for two years in the 1980s. It was more than enough for me though.

The music was one of the characters in the movie "Drive". Like the characters, it was in many scenes, softly riding in the background until needing to be heard, setting the tone and fading softly into the background again. This soundtrack is catchy and fun in the same way you feel about a song you are about to really like but are just hearing for the first time. It grabs your attention with track one, reels you in with the second and pampers you with the next few. Then, it softly fades into the background with the instrumental tracks, waiting for it's turn to enter the scene again.

There are some great songs on this soundtrack. I purchased it for the Kavinsky and College songs; however, the rest of the songs are ones I doubt I'll ever add to a playlist.I liked the movie and like those two songs. If you are considering this for the same reasons, you might want to look up the CD's those songs were originally released on and purchase those CD's or the singles from that page. If they had offered those two as singles on the Motion Picture Soundtrack page, I probably would have just purchased them and I have to admitt I wish I had.
