So Far, LOVE This! SUPER easy installation. Great Shower.
When looking for a rainshower-type shower head, I did a lot of googling for reviews and chose one or two candidates. But before making the purchase I checked the brand of faucets we already have and saw it was Moen (not one of the ones I was originally considering), and I did a specific search for Moen rainshower shower heads and found this one. I figured the quality would be pretty good because Moen isn't cheapo, and the price was reasonable (and much less than many of the showers). So I decided to try it and if it's not that great at least I haven't risked hundreds of dollars. I also researched what sort of special connections and installation I might need. I wanted it to fit my standard shower pipe in the wall (not ceiling). Some rainshower shower heads said they require professional installation. I wasn't sure with this one because it didn't have special instructions or diagrams. Well it couldn't have been simpler. We literally unscrewed our old shower head (loosening it with a wrench of course) and screwed this one right on. Bingo! Instant shower head! And when we turned it on, no adjustments were needed, it provided a wide spray of beautiful rain. The dual setting allows a lighter-landing spray or a slightly stronger one. I liked that choice because in reviews of other rainshower shower heads, a lot of people complained the stream wasn't strong enough to wash shampoo out of hair. We have it set on the softer setting and since our water isn't soft, it washes out shampoo just fine and is plenty strong. I thought I was in heaven for that first shower. It provides such a nice cover of water that I don't even have to use the second shower head I had installed in the master shower (I used to always run two shower heads at once). I should save a lot of hot water by just using this one shower head. So I guess you can see I LOVE this so far. I've only had it a week so I don't know about longevity yet. But it appears very sturdy and well-made. FYI I was at Home Depot the day after I bought this online and looked to see if they had the same thing and how much it cost, but they don't carry this model, they have different Moen rain shower shower heads. I highly recommend. NEW ADDITION TO REVIEW: Since I first wrote this review, I bought the same showeheads for all of our bathrooms and everybody in the family loves them. I don't think they could be any easier to install. I'm very pleased... the only outstanding question I won't know for some time is how long they hold up. But quite frankly for this great of a shower at this price, if I had to screw on another one in a few years it would be worth it.

Truly a rainfall shower head. BEautiful to look at and drenching.
Reviewing shower heads is tough because opinions are subjective and people really like different things. I feel comfortable giving this 5 stars though, because I bought it 6 months ago and never regretted it. Here's the scoop: This is a lovely showerhead in every respect, and provides good water flow rate, even without any modification. It is a rainfall style, so it is a full array of little jets that feel like a heavy rain, but it is NOT a high-powered spray. That's the matter of preference. I truly like both styles, but I think I prefer the rainfall style for daily use, as it's more relaxing and comfortable. It also provides enough water coverage to reasonable wet two people showering at once, a thing I care a lot about. If you are looking for a high powered jet, like many old hotels use, this is NOT the showerhead you want. But if you want a more spa-like drenching rain style, then THIS is a good option. I haven't had issues with jet clogging yet, though once a month or so I have to flick my finger across a silicone jet to "reset" it. This is typical of any small opening and hard water. I am using a cheap delta shower arm extender to bring the showerhead farther out into the shower so I can stand mostly under it. This is a great setup! I imagine that if you are not using an extension arm, the power might not be enough to launch far out into the shower area adequately. Again, that is just the type of shower head this is designed to be.

CR's highest rated - not a bad choice - read below for install tips
When my spouse requested we upgrade the showerhead from the perfectly good existing Niagara 1.5gpm low flow head that we've had since the home energy audit people gave it to us, I looked online at the reviews. That famous consumer reporting magazine we all know rated this Moen Velocity unit as the best they'd reviewed. I ordered it from Amazon and was very happy to get a refurb unit at an excellent price -- this is a very very expensive unit new. It's made in China regardless of cost, but at least is heavy duty stainless steel or similar metal throughout - not plasti-chrome.Once installed, this is a nice unit and the spouse and I are 4 out of 5 stars pleased with the pressure, functionality and overall use. it goes between a central core high pressure setting and a full nozzle lesser pressure "rain" setting. We have ours installed like a regular shower head, but you could also install it above you as a straight-down showerhead - it might be even better. If it were just me, I would have been equally as happy with the Niagara-type $5 low flow, as I think that unit produces a great shower, but this looks better and the spouse is happy...The Tip: The unit didn't come with a washer and has a strange wide area that doesn't easily take a washer. I thought this was just my refurb. unit, but it appears the new units don't ship with a washer either. If they did, it would be a strangely shaped thing, since the last couple MM of the unit's pipe are as wide as a a garden hose. Anyway, I visited plumbing stores and Moen retailers and Moen was even nice enough to send a (regular) washer - none of which fit or worked. If you use a regular head washer, it will move around and not seat correctly - and leak. If you use no washer without teflon tape or with just a turn or two of plumbers tape, it will leak. In the end it was my friend, a plumber, who suggested just wrapping the pipe you attach this head onto with ample (3 full turns or a bit more) of plumber's teflon white tape. I did that and it works well without leaking. So, you can run this thing with a lot of plumber's tape on the threads with no washer! I learned something..
