Great and nostalgic! Advices for some negative reviews:
I've had this Tamagotchi for 2 weeks and I managed to raise him to the Adult stage. Before purchasing, I read reviews where some Tamagotchis would die after 3/4 days with good care, others said the egg wouldn't hatch.1. My first tama died after 3 days with perfect care. I realized you have to be very careful with the weight after the baby stage. Each stage has a base weight (baby 5 oz; child 10 oz; teen 20 oz; adult 30 oz) and if you double his base weight he will get sick and die. Mine was a child with 22 oz when he died... After keeping track of his weight, I managed to keep him alive until Adult stage (currently 13yr).2. I would recommend reseting your Tamagotchi after you first turn it on. Also, the egg will only hatch if you set the time. Which means, every time you reset it you need to set the time again.Overall I'm very happy with the product. Arrived very quickly in the original box. It's very difficult to buy Bandai Tamagotchis in Europe (dispatched from Europe), only the minis and the originals. The screen may be a little difficult to see sometimes, because it doesn't have a back light, but again, just like the originals from the 90s. It's the perfect gift to my inner child that always wanted a Tamagotchi. I recommend.

Tamagotchi
I really like this tamagotchi. I bought this because I used to play Moshi Monsters until it closed down. Moshi Monsters was an online virtual pet. When it closed down I missed it. I have always wanted a tamagotchi ever since I was a child which is one of the reasons I played Moshi Monsters. I decided to get this tamagotchi since I can't play Moshi Monsters anymore and it has made me feel a lot better about Moshi Monsters closing down. This tamagotchi is a lot harder to care for than Moshi Monsters was. When it is a baby it requires a lot more care than the other stages. Once it reaches the child stage and older it sleeps at night so you don't have to worry about it dying if it's left overnight. I take it to bed with me because it wakes up earlier than I do. It wakes up at 9am and I'm not normally out of bed until 11am so I take it with me to my bedroom so I can take care of it's needs if it needs anything before 11am. If I leave it downstairs I normally find when I wake up that it is hungry, it's mood is bad and it has done a poo and sometimes it's also sick. I'm really glad I got this tamagotchi because it's actually more fun than Moshi Monsters and doesn't require a subscription fee to get all the features like Moshi Monsters did. Unfortunately my first tamagotchi died at only 3 years old. That's 3 days in real life time. 1 day of real life time is 1 year in tamagotchi time. I have since started a new tamagotchi and I'm hoping it lives longer this time. Some advice for you if your tamagotchi keeps dying at a young age for no reason. If you give your tamagotchi snacks especially when it's a baby it usually won't live past 3. I didn't find this out until I was on my 3rd tamagotchi. I asked on the tamagotchi Reddit why my tamagotchis kept dying and several people on there said if you give it snacks especially when it's a baby which is what I did it won't usually live past 3 and if it does it won't live much past that age. I haven't given my current tamagotchi and snacks at all and it has so far lived much longer than my other ones. It is currently 7 at the time of this review and is my first tamagotchi to reach the adult stage.. If you get stuck with your tamagotchi or you don't understand something there are many tamagotchi care guides online and there is also a tamagotchi Reddit with lots of useful information on it and you can ask questions there as well and someone will usually help you.

Just like a retro tamagotchi
Definitely reminds me of my childhood although mine has died so need new batteries. Be aware of that and maybe get some batteries for it too as it dies within a few months

Nostalgic
My daughter requested this and I remember the original well. She's very happy with it and whilst it is pricy it's nostalgic so I didn't mind.Apparently they don't 'die' they go back to their planet..... When I asked if she'd killed it yet.I see other reviews mention the poor screen. Its true it has to be viewed head on so to speak but that's not an issue. I remember mine being the same. If anything it adds to the charm. (If she wanted a fantastic screen she'd play it on her phone.)

Thank before you Purchase
Alot to read how to use and easy put off for a 8 year old. Not good value for money but it is just as I remember when I had one many years ago.

Great!!!!
I’ve been wanting a tamagotchi for a while and was very pleased when package arrived the next day after ordering. Everything is as it should be. The screen quality is good but at some angles, the image of the digital pet is quite faint. Very sturdy, doesn’t scratch when you drop the tamagotchi, but I definitely don’t recommend dropping it! All in all, very good quality and no regrets!

I love these, shame my daughter's weren't quite as enthusiastic *sigh*
Exactly like the old ones. I bought for my girls as a present (not sure if I got them because I thought they'd like them or whether I bought them because I used to love them!). My eldest daughter (9 years old) dutifully looked after it, cleaned it, fed it and kept it alive.. My youngest daughter (6 years old) told me it's annoying, it won't stop beeping and she wants it to die (I'm now worried about this girl having children in the future), hers got thrown in the darkest depths of a drawer where it remains. The other one soon joined it once the 9 year old lost interest.Hey ho, nevermind, I still think they're awesome....

It's perfect.
I love my Tamagotchi! It is very easy to use and such a simple but fun device. The colours of the device are vibrant and just as it is pictured. It is sturdy and I am very attached to my alien child.
