I bought this for an upcoming Cruise (Sept). Received today and tried it using magnet base on stove and worked perfectly and held position. Also tried sitting on counter top in bathroom and works great also as can swivel it in any position needed (same as using magnet base). Put on Auto and waited for light to go out (a few seconds) and motion sensor works great. Slight movement turned on and LED is just bright enough to see what is needed (toilet & area around) & light up the area but not so bright to hurt a sleeping pair of eyes. I think this would be perfect for hallways, bathroom or any area where some light is needed whether in hotel, cruise stateroom or even home. Fits in the palm of my hand and light and base separates if needed for smaller packing needs. I don't think you could go wrong purchasing this light. Perfect addition to my traveling/packing needs. Does have an Auto and an On button, so can leave on continuously or use Auto for motion Sensor. Again, I haven't used yet for my cruise so can't say if it will hold on Magnetic walls of stateroom, but regardless I can use on counter top, floor or anything with a flat surface. So happy I purchased this and can't wait to use for traveling. Received a Thank you gift of a an Ebook for 201 Cruise Hacks, haven't redeemed yet but nice little extra I wasn't expecting.

This is especially useful for travel when the bathroom light switch is on the outside of the bathroom! So annoying that you have to wake your roomie up when you turn the bathroom lights on in the middle of the night. The motion sensor works very well. It gives a soft light so it doesn't completely wake you up but gives enough light to see the room. It should work well for other uses also.It is also removable from the base and can be positioned in a number of different ways.LOVE IT!!

Got this right before my cruise to use in the bathroom so I didn’t have to turn on the light every time we went in there if someone was sleeping. It’s just the right amount of brightness. The magnetic is super strong so it stayed in place the whole time. Was nice to be able to turn it different directions if need be.

I purchased based on other reviews and recommendations. So glad I did. Took it on a cruise. Placed it on the ceiling of the bathroom and it turned on with the slighted movement including the door opening. Only thing I would say is that it does not stay on long. So, if you are sitting in the bathroom doing your business, it may shut off, so wave your hands and it's back on again. The brightness was perfect for middle-of-the-ngiht but not super bright. If you needed it for a closet area to find anything, then you will be disappointed. Few things to keep in mind, it works great on the ceiling, but if placed on a wall, it may slide. Also, there is no off button. So, when you pack it away for travel, I actually used blue painters tape to hold one battery outside it so it was easy to plug in upon arrival and the batteries wouldn't die in transit.

Great Cruise buy. Perfect for getting up in the middle of the night for those potty breaks. The room that I shared was as lil as a shoebox But this light was perfect. The price is so worth it! A must buy for sure

The media could not be loaded. I got this for our family cruise that's coming up. Other reviews said that the magnet is not strong and slides down. I found that you can untwist the magnet cover and it has a strong hold. It did slide down the fridge when I had the cover on (like one other video that is posted) but when I removed it there was a strong hold. There is also a 3M sticker included if you want it stationary. The 3rd and 4th picture are of the light in the dark. It lit up my kitchen area pretty well. You can also have this on motion detection or always on. This is NOT a dimmable light, but it you can rotate the whole light and point it to where it is more dimmed.I will update this review and add more pictures from the cruise.

Be aware! As many have previously stated the Cruise light is extremely hard to open in order to install the batteries. I had to ask a mechanic friend to help me as he also could not open it until he lightly sprayed some silicone around the opening. Finally after several sprays he was able to open it and install the batteries. The light works as intended but the company needs to do something to make this product user friendly.
