User Error? GREAT LITTLE TOY
So far so good! Bought for Easter. Got a great deal - used for $6!! Almost bought at full price, glad I didn’t. Reviews scared me at first. The RC didn’t work for me at first try either, upon further inspection. The car takes 3 batteries.. wonder if this is why most negative reviews were wrote! I admittedly almost sent it back myself!

Great toy for toddler
My one year old loves this toy. She chases it and it chases her. It’s a joy to see the smiles on her little face.

Fun to play with, first stock up on AA and AAA batteries and various screwdrivers.
Once up and running, this toy is an awful lot of fun, from the youngest operator in up. First off you will need 3 AAA batteries for the remote and 3 AA batteries for the toy itself. The demo batteries in the remote were moldy. Both hatch covers need a Phillips head screwdriver but the toy required a smaller one than the remote. I really do not look forward to changing these batteries...the screws will be easy to strip. They are deep set.FYI, it is pretty easy for the remote and toy car to become unpaired. Turn them both off and on again. The car rolls forward, spins, makes noise and flaps the car doors (this last is passive). You need to stay fairly close with the remote. It’s a great way for a small child to get the hang of basic remote control action and it is fairly cute. Pretty high maintenance but fun.

Not worth it
I thought this was the cutest thing for my 2 year old for Christmas. The first day we opened it we put fresh new batteries in it and it worked great. I made sure it was off and the next day it didn’t work. Put new batteries in it again and it worked. Same thing, shut it off when he was done and the next day it didn’t work. Replaced the batteries for the third time and it still doesn’t work. Not happy about that as this was a cute toy and he was excited every time he played with it. Now it doesn’t work at all!

No so good
My 2 year old did not like this toy. He thought it was funny for 5 minutes then it was thrown in the toy box. He had a hard time getting it to work.

initially thought they were broken, but they just need new batteries
When you first set up the units, you need fresh alkaline batteries. I used some cheaper rechargeable ones and it did not work, a few google searches and it seem that you need good voltage when they first join the transmitter to the unit. I gave 3 stars because the kids did not really play with them much, and also they don't seem to have an "auto-off" feature...
