This used book is New.
I purchased a used good condition. This book is just old. It's newer and hardly ever been used. The page edges are a little tanned around the edges. Overall it has some great information. I'm going to sit down and study this book. I am going to move fashion forward so far for the BBW.

I truly didn't know what to expect.
Well I didn't know what to expect, when this book arrived and I looked through it. I was very pleased with the information that I read. I am more than happy to have purchased this book as one of the two books that are starting my sewing library.

It's A Textbook for New Sewists
This book was suggested in a video on YouTube from Evelyn Wood. This 1974 edition is a goldmine of information. I am a brand new sewist and this gives you step-by-step instructions on placing patterns, cutting patterns and sewing. Also maga information on fabrics, uses and tips on how to sew them. It also has lots and lots of illustrations. I do really well with pictures, not so much with text.

Great condition and price, but with a small issue.
The media could not be loaded. "The book's in good shape with just a little corner wear. The price was great too. Only downside — I found a dead bug inside, which was a bit unpleasant."

I love this book!
I do love this book. I’m a beginner at sewing and whenever I’m not sure how to do something or don’t understand something, this is my go to book! Evelyn Wood recommended it on YouTube and I’m so glad I bought it. It’s a vintage book which is what I wanted to have so that I can apply vintage methods to modern clothes creation.

Wonderful starter book for someone home taught.
This book does a great job with explaining different sewing machines, patterns feet supplies that you need what type of needles there are fabrics it really goes through it all. It also covers your sewing space tailoring and hems dart s it covers men women children furniture hobby stuff and but I didn't see any quilting but it does cover home decor and upholstery. there are no patterns that you would put directly onto your fabric in this book but there are plenty of directions to make your own. I've already got plans to make a child sleeping bag and it's giving me the courage to do my own drapes and skirts. What can I say, I really love this book. I'm taking a ton of notes as I go through and it works as a reference guide. I do wish they would update their information on sewing machines regarding some of the computer features as well as more on sergers. There was barely a page.Attached as some photos of examples and the table of contents.
