Saving my 20yo back
I bought a shikibuton for my sleeping arrangement this school year and placed it on a hard mat on top of a platform frame, a rather pricy endeavor and it did not help with my back pain. I suppose it might be that it's meant to be used on the floor, but I didn't want to commit to that notion. The mat below my shikibuton was way too hard, I've had better sleeping experiences on stone tiles. Not really wanting to spend more money on my sleeping arrangement ($319 shikibuton, $126 mat, $116 frame) I needed something cheap to distribute the weight of my body. I'm 5'4 and 140lbs and I carry a lot in my lower body. The problem with my shikibuton situation is I'm not as thin as the average Japanese person, my hips curved my spine whether I slept on my back or side. With all that being said, this mattress was a back saver. I developed back pain prior to the shikibuton from switching from a spring mattress all my life to whatever the heck colleges give you and then adding a foam topper that was way soft for my body and then getting a cheap foam mattress for my bed at home. It's safe to say I'm never going to be a foam mattress advocate--unless it's a Temperpedic. They shipped the mattress in a box rolled up in an airtight wrapper. It was heavy but I managed to move it into my room and lift it onto my frame. As soon as I cut the plastic wrapper off, it started to unfold and fully formed in like two minutes. If you're not a brawn, I would recommend another hand for lifting for ease. Remember to put it on your frame before you cut it.I laid on it without anything else and while you can feel where the coils are, I found it rather comfortable. I put my shikibuton over it, though, because I didn't spend over $300 for anything. The BEST sleep I've had in my life.Though I'm confident you could sleep on just the mattress, with the money you saved from an inexpensive mattress, I'd probably add a 2in topper if you're not into the firmness of the coils. Might I add, try a cotton topper rather than foam. But if you must go with foam, make sure it's dense foam. Not that cheap stuff that flattens so much when you lay on it that you might as well have used a towel.

You get what you pay for?
Isn’t the best quality, honestly I think a ikea foam mattress would be better then this .

better than a futon mattress, but that's it
okay so, I got this to replace my old futon hide-a-bed thing, which was literally just foam. this, being a spring mattress, offers much better support than that. however, the springs are very... prominent. I'm thinking about getting some kinda pad thingie to put on top of it so I don't have to feel the springs so much when in bed. It's decent enough, but could be better. If you need something soft, you might wanna look elsewhere. if you need something firm, this might be worth checking out. if you just need a flippin' twin size mattress, this one can probably work for you.It was pretty cool taking it out of the box and watching it uncurl on the bed frame.

Ridiculously uncomfortable
This is a garbage mattress--about the worst I have ever felt. I would never sleep on it. I bought it for a little kid who doesn't really care about comfort, and even he can't handle it. You can feel the springs directly on your back. No padding whatsoever.I bought this at the same time as a cheaper mattress: (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078C5BB7L/) that turned out to be a whole different level of comfort. Please, please steer clear of this piece of garbage. Buy the Oliver Smith mattress, or any other mattress, instead.I think a bed of nails would be about the same comfort level.

Good Value for the Price
I'm very happy with this purchase. The mattress seems well-made. I use a 1-inch foam mattress pad on this mattress, and that works well. Basically, the mattress (for my taste) is neither too hard or too soft. This mattress is on a day bed frame, and it suits the purpose for which I bought it. For the price, I feel it's a great value!
