Works Great – No More Power Issues!
I got this hardwired transformer to use with my Ring wired video doorbell, and it’s been working perfectly. Installation was pretty simple—just make sure you’re comfortable with basic wiring (or get some help if you’re not), and you're good to go.Once it was set up, my doorbell powered on right away, and I haven’t had a single issue since. No more low voltage warnings or random disconnects—it’s just been solid and reliable. If you’re installing a Ring doorbell and want a power source you can count on, this transformer does exactly what it should. Super happy with it!

New Transformer for Ring Doorbell
My home was built in 1970 and I am fairly sure the transformer was the original one. While it served the doorbell for the house for 50 years, it was just not beefy enough to deal with the additional power requirements of an always on doorbell camera system like the new Ring doorbell I bought, so I went with Ring suggestion and bought their own brand of transformer.Install was pretty smooth...was able to screw onto flat baseplate with the plastic nut on the back and it was off to the races! No wiring changes needed (other than replacing the chime and installing doorbell).Seems to be working just fine, powering the chime and the new Ring doorbell. Not sure it will last 50 years, but hopefully I can get 10.

Which transformer is it????
I have a wired doorbell Pro. I had a 16V, 10VA transformer in there and got a level one which is the best that you could get. But I upgraded to a 16V, 30VA in order to get it to what the ring website says I should have in there for optimum performance. But now I get a level two which is lower than the level one. Now the Ring app is telling me I need to upgrade the transformer! How can that happen?! Get with it Ring!! You need to correct your website so you’re not getting people to buy your underpowered transformers. I think what’s needed is a 24V 40VA transformer and many other reviewers say the same thing.UPDATE:Problem found! My apologies to Ring for the above review. What I discovered was the $100 plus Electrician wrapped the installation along with the wire to the transformer around the screw on the transformer. Therefore, it was not getting enough power to the doorbell from the transformer. (I want my $100 back.) So, I fixed that and now I’m getting level one and doorbell works perfectly. As they say if you want it done right, do it yourself.

This transformer was necessary because the Ring system is underpowered and does not work well
Sorry to say Ring, Just not a good system. And this transformer is equivalent to a Band-Aid on a gunshot wound. And here is why…I really do not like giving a bad review. I guess this is obvious if you look over my reviews. My brother purchased for me (2) Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro with Birdseye view and 3d motion, a Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 "best in class with cutting edge features 2021 release", and a Ring indoor cam compact plug in HD camera, as a housewarming gift for my new home. Yes Extravagant. I thought with this state of the art equipment ,(supposedly easy homeowner hook-up) which I had my handyman who is licensed install, would be wonderful, reliable and secure. I was wrong. These items in a very small (under 900 sq. ft., wood frame house) with a brand new 2022 edition wifi router and high speed internet loses connection multiple times a day, and becomes USELESS! When they lose power, you cannot reconnect them unless you are at the location of the camera, and can push a button on the top of the camera/floodlight to restart the action of reconnection. So how exactly is this going to protect your home when you are away? Answer. It is NOT. Also, if you want real assistance with the Ring system, that is not really forthcoming, because all they can tell you to do is, push the button on the top of the camera and reconnect to the wifi network.Truly a system not meant to be used by anyone who needs reliable surveillance, or security whey they are away, or anyone who has children coming home as latchkey kids, and wants to be sure they are secure when they come home alone. Imagine my unhappy realization during a storm when the camera on the back of my house, roughly 20 feet away from the wifi router, and the Ring Doorbell cam, both lost wifi connection, this while the wifi speed test on my cell phone and laptop revealed the following -Ping 24ms Jitter 8ms Download 114.7Mbps and Upload 36.0 Mbps. I called Ring only to have the guy tell me I needed to yes if necessary in the rain storm to restart my Ring outdoor cam, climb on a ladder and push the button on the top of the cam to reconnect it to wifi. Obviously this was not an option.Clearly this "state of the art": equipment needs some more artistic creativity. If this was not a gift, I would have already returned it. I am not sure what the outcome will be, but this transformer I had to purchase to boost the power of an old underpowered doorbell, is a joke. This Transformer is not the answer to the problem that is a poor system, and does not answer the problem of the two “state of the art cameras” that also lose connectivity while there is a strong stable wifi signal. This appears to be the selling of additional equipment to try to prop up a bad system. It is the equivalent of a band-aid on a gunshot wound. They are going to need either a new system or a lot more band-aids.

Solves low power and wifi drop out issues with Wired Ring Pro
This fixed any connection issues I had with my hard wired ring pro doorbell camera. When I originally installed my Ring Doorbell Pro I noticed the low power warning but the doorbell worked perfectly fine with no drop outs or singal loss. For some reason over the last few years I noticed the doorbell was more and more frequently losing wifi connection and I was not able to view my camera. I figured might be my wifi so I got a mesh installed, great connection, but still suffered drop outs. One day I saw someone mention this transformer as the end all be all solution for drop outs. So I ordered it and headed up to the attic to install. Ripped out the old one that was limiting the power and installed the new one. As easy as turning off the breaker, swapping the wires, flipping breaker back on and waiting for the Ring Doorbell to reconnect. Now when I got to device health I have a solid 18v and never lose connection unless my actual internet goes out, but thats a story for another day. Spectrum will always be on the naughty list.
