Love the concept, requires experimentation(EXPLAINED)
I hate writing such a lengthy review as this, but after 35 years of playing, I KNOW this product deserves a thorough review! Here's the rub, and I'll try to be concise.I had the 30-strand puresound blaster on this exact same drum and got a fat, smack-yo-face, lovingly-kiss-mama's cheek- WHATEVER I wanted, depending on how I played the drum and how the snares were tensioned! I just cranked or loosened the strainer knob and worked the lever just a bit. Despite my shortcomings, a bit of perseverance would bring about at the very least nice amounts of "sonic magic".The problem with these snare wires is:(on several drums, not just the one):They are just pretty much "on" or "off"! I, as a HUGE FAN of this company and user of their products for many years, am somewhat, no REALLY- confused. No matter which snare drum I use, the width of the snare bed, etc., etc.- I cannot get these to sound anything like the 30-strand "Blasters" I used to have.Any way, I am going to rate these pretty high with the caveat that you know exatly what you're getting:A "SYSTEM" THAT ALLOWS U TO QUICKLY SWAP OUT SNARE WIRES"? Yes!Do they sound as good as the 'regular' 24 or 30 strand "Blasters? No, not to me they don't.Do they give you more OVERALL versatility, when you consider swapping say a 16 strand for say a 24, 30, or even a 42 strand? Well, heck yes- of course! And you can do it fast, too! But, installed on the same drum: assuming you have a good snare strainer, proper snare bed, etc, do I feel you should buy these over a snare wire set that YOU KNOW SOUNDS GOOD ON YOUR DRUM already?Unequivocally no, I do not.If you're happy with your current snare sound, keep your chosen wires.NOT happy? Then choose these and easily swap out many different wires to see what loves up right in your snare bed...NOTICE: I give these a very high rating given what I feel their strengths are 'as it relates to YOUR perfect sound'. This is probably the easiest way to find that, and then- man o man; you have SO MUCH versatility that may just put you "in the gig" because you could quickly put 4 (or more) different snare sounds on the same drum within SECONDS, literally!Notice, I feel my Blaster 30's from my beloved Puresound gave me WAY MORE VERSATILITY IN MY SOUND CHOICE On MY ONE SNARE DRUM- but, my friend there are few matches made in heaven(that one apparently, was ;-). This crazy swappable wire set may just let you find yours. ;-)

Get that thick thwack!
I recently decided to buy a lower-end drumkit on Craigslist just to keep around the practice room so our drummer doesn't have to drag her nice kit over just for rehearsal. New heads and some tuning made the kick and toms sound just fine, but the steel snare (Peace brand) had some pretty bad buzz and a long, wailing ring to it that no amount of tuning or new heads could fix. I finally decided to swap the snare wires. The Puresound makes a big difference. It doesn't cut ALL the buzz, but it makes it far more manageable and some light dampening on the batter head takes care of the rest (I'm a fan of the old leather wallet trick.) I'd imagine the improvement might be even greater on a nicer snare. The snare wire was easy to install, and the nylon strap with "ruler" lines made it easy to center on the snareside head. The tone is much richer and more complex than my old snare wire, which just sounded thin. The Puresound is also a bit more responsive to tensioning, making it easier to dial in whatever level of smack or trashcan-rattle you want. I paired it with an Aquarian single-ply snareside head and a Remo Emperor X batterhead and left it a little loose for a nice thick thwack with some sustain. Now my cheap snare sounds pretty good! Plus... it looks pretty sweet.

Brass is my favorite!!!
I picked the 24 strand because I noticed my snare bed was a little wider in this AK brass drum I had. I feel like I picked up some snare sensitivity near the edges and I’m very pleased overall with the warm brass sound. Clarity was not affected. Excellent.

Check upon receipt!
It's nothing against PureSound because their products are solid. That said, compare the pic of what I got to what they're selling (including the size on the cardboard insert). Sorry, but, whomever fulfilled this order kinda crapped the bed. I ordered a 13" 24 strand snare bed because it was $4 cheaper than the 20 strand and came with straps, I mean, it says what it is in the part number; 1324. What I received was a 1420! Yep. A 14" 20 strand bed with strings instead of straps.I don't have the time (or patience) to return it so I'm just gonna call it a push and not pursue it. Still a little disappointing that it's so hard for people to get things right nowadays.Edit: Update Nov 7 2020- Three times they got this wrong and It needed to be returned. I grew weary of the incompetence so I ponied up the extra few bucks to purchase it from a reliable seller. AMS had the actual one I ordered at my door the next afternoon.

Best Mounting System!!
I love these snare wires because they come with the Quick Release straps. The straps have measurements on each side to ensure you center the snare wires. You can pull the Cotter pins and remove the snare wires to replace the snare side reso head and re-install the snare wires at the exact same tension as before with no guess work!
