Totally Useless.
The Rudder on the aircraft does NOT WORK for a start. I've tried both of my joysticks, my control Yoke, my rudder pedals, and the mouse. NOTHING. The only thing I can say is the graphics are good, Without being able to fly the aircraft in the game, I can't review the rest. Waste of money. If I could, I would give this zero stars.

Warning there's a bug
I bought this product 2 months ago and loading the many discs took time but all ok. The C172 tutorial went well but trying to change either the aircraft or location resulted in the download "hanging" with the response "XPlane11 is not responding". Over many weeks in contact with XPlane to sort the issue, I have downloaded and sent the XPlane monitoring file, the XPlane Preferences File, They sent me a link to update my graphics card. Didnt work. The sent me a large file to load and run to monitor Windows10 whilst XPlane was running. I sent them this file. They recently responded (January 2020) saying there is a bug in XPlane11 and contact me again when its fixed.

I enjoyed using but it became too much for my older Mac.

I had been away from the world of flightsims for over 10 years when a friend recommended I try this as a tool to review some real world flight data recorder information from a training session I was involved with. I already had the data in a text format, and with a little tweaking was able to get it into the necessary format to load into the X-Plane replay tool. I fired it up expecting to see some rudimentary depiction, but was blown away by the incredibly realistic representation of both the airplane and surroundings - not to mention the actual flight path and the ability to manipulate the perspective from both inside and outside the airplane. That alone was well worth the price. "Included" with that capability was of course the actual simulator, and when I eventually got to it I jumped in to the included 747-400 model. I've spent a bit of time around real 747's, so I started it off cold and dark and went through the startup procedure expecting it to be a pretty poor representation. Darn if it wasn't close to the real thing. There were a few items missing or buttons that were not functional, but all in all it was far beyond my expectations. I then took a Cessna 172 out of my local airport for a couple of patterns, and the same held true. Yes, there is the "sim factor" of buttons and switches not working exactly like the physical airplane (for example it takes several seconds to shift the view to find where to click on a switch that in the real world would be a memory action) but the flight model and environmental interactions are close enough to be useful.

At the moment it's a *3 because it won't load plus it's scratched on disc 1 but I've purchased some cleaning products so I hope it will work, this is what we get every time we try.

Bought this item, waited to install on new computer. Worked great for two weeks and stopped working except demo mode. Not worth the money or the headache! Update - Emailed X Plane, next day they corrected problem. Have had a couple successful cross country flights! 9-29-18
