light but a little flimsier than i expected
I wanted a light 3 season welly, and these are that, but three points. The soles let me feel just a bit more of stony ground than I'm used to with winter wellies and Vibram soles. The uppers are very soft and flexi...I wonder how long they will last, and thirdly, they come about a half size larger than most other makers and are just slightly narrower than I was expecting to boot !So if you walk on grass a lot, have standard width feet and like soft light wellies, buy these, but knock a half size off your usual order size.

Brilliant wellies, but go 1/2 a size up.
Just fantastic. As comfy as slippers, as flexible and grippy as trainers, as warm and robust as a good pair of walking boots, as waterproof as, well, wellies.I've worn these about fifteen hours a day for six consecutive days in the Somme-like conditions of Glastonbury and didn't have to think about them / my feet / soreness / blisters etc. at all. They served me brilliantly - I walked several miles a day through every different consistency of mud known to man and then felt fresh enough to dance till the early hours. The previous year my B&Q wellies nearly ruined my festival; my feet were in agony. As well as festivals, my trusty Aigles have done me proud through hundreds of miles of forest/coast/trail walking and I've been totally dry, warm and comfortable the whole time. There's really no need for walking boots in the winter when you've got these. They're expensive but I reckon they're worth it and they'll last years.Other reviews said the sizing was generous and to order a smaller size, which I did, but they were way too tight. I then ordered half a size more than normal and they fit perfectly with thick socks. The exchange was no trouble.Top Tip: Don't bother buying the Aigle Swipol spray to maintain them. It's literally just standard silicone spray in a different can for five times the price. You can buy silicon spray in any DIY or plumbing shop. It's currently available in Screwfix for about two quid. One other thing - I think people in Hunter wellies look like clueless city-dwellers with more money than sense, following the herd and paying through the nose for a brand name. Do yourself a favour and get Aigle instead - you're paying for the craftsmanship not the label. Aigle and Le Chameau are classy!EDIT [OCT 2021]. It's now 3 years since I wrote this review and I stand by every word of it. These wellies are still in fantastic condition and still as comfy as ever. It's actually been 4 years since I bought them and they've seen some pretty nasty conditions in that time and haven't always been well cared for, but they're showing no signs of giving up. Absolute quality! If you found this review useful please click "Helpful" below. Thanks!

Sizes are too big, nothing special about these
I bought these to replace a pair of split Muck Edgewater II wellingtons that I'd had for 4 years, after a recommendation by a farmer.I was very disappointed with these wellingtons. Firstly, even though they were supposed to be a UK size 8, they were clearly closer to a 9. As far as the comfort aspect goes, there is some cushioning on the sole/heal, but that's it. The rest of them is no more comfortable than a standard Dunlop wellington, althought the calf section does not flop over like the Dunlops. The Muck boots I had were almost half the price of the Aigles, but were better by some margin. Needles to say, the Aigles have been returned and I now have another pair of Muck boots.

Forget Hunter! ... These are the best Wellington Boots you can buy!
For years I was a huge advocate of Hunter Wellington Boots. I always thought they were the cream of the crop and couldn't be bettered. Sadly, since Hunter's manufacturing was moved overseas, the quality of their boots has markedly diminished. The last pair I had cracked within 3-4 months and the soles were already showing signs of significant wear by that time too.Consequently, I found myself in the market for a new brand of Wellington Boots and, after reading positive reviews, I decided on these from Aigle. They are brilliant! I have had mine for about three years and now my other half also has a pair. These are genuinely top quality boots that are still made by hand by craftsmen.Mine are predominantly used for dog walking, so they are worn for several miles a day, every day of the week. They are very comfortable and perform as well after three years' use as they did when they were new. Even the soles still look they did when I first got them ... no signs of wear from the miles of walking in them at all.At this rate it will be a good while before I need to buy a new pair of Wellingtons. but when that day comes, I will be going straight for Aigle again.

Are they now from thinner rubber?
I've had five pairs of Aigle Parcours over the last ten years or so. However my last pair only lasted a year and a half from Jan'20 - Aug'21. My new pair (Sept) also seem thinner rubber. They are comfortable of course - and I never drive in them to avoid clutch and brake 'flex' but they do split above mid-sole. I've had this out previously with Aigle France and I repair small splits and leaks with Stormsure glue. What a pity if they are thinner. I don't work in them or garden but we do walk a lot. I suppose £2 a week is not a lot to keep your feet dry and comfortable but the writing seems on the wall?
