IT WORKS!
I just finished working on an antique dresser that I have been working on for months and months. It had 5 coats of paint on it, plus it was originally stained also. I used chemical stripping agents on it, it was sanded and sanded and sanded somemore, but all the paint still had NOT came off of it. I relented to 'this is the way it will be' and then I saw "MIRACLE ERASER" on TV and decided to give it a try......what's a few more hours (or days) working on it??? I could NOT believe how well the remaining paint began to come off. Wthin less than an hour, I had the paint off what was left. I did find out one thing......the more GENTLE you work, the easier the paint comes off. (I finally started using the bar and doing it like I learned to "polish/buff my husband's shoes".) The harder one pushes, the faster the bar is 'eaten away' and the results are not the greatest. When I eased off on applying pressure, I did a much better, cleaner, and faster job. I was so pleased and finally able to stain the dresser. BUT---- There was one area that I still could NOT get this nasty green paint, plus the layers under it, to come off the edge of the (chamber pot) door. I had used the stripping agent on it and I sanded and sanded trying to get it off, but, I gave up and stained it. Then tonight I decided to give the door edge an 'easy touch' with my last "MIRACLE ERASER" bar, even though I had stained it already, these remaining green streaks on the door edge really annoyed me. It was a tediouos job but it was well worth another hour of getting that paint off and a clean appearance to re-stain. (I had some tell me to paint the edge brown since the green was still streaked deep onto the wood.... but I wanted it OFF.)THANKS to the MIRACLE ERASER, my antique dresser looks SUPER. I wish I had had it when I first started it but since I didn't, I am ever so thankful that I used it to finish it. I will definitely order more, as I am sure I will have another wood project again with paint to remove. KEY to it, use light pressure and results happen before your eyes.

Worse than worthless. DO NOT BUY!
I may come back for addition comments later, when I try these blocks for grooves and patterns, but on first use on a flat surface, I found them to be messy, laborious, and generally ineffective. I stripped a small portion of a cabinet (about 3x12") and it took much too long. Even after about 15 minutes of vigorous rubbing, paint remnants remained on the surface, and the "dust" the manufacture mentions is ubiquitous. Once about 1/2-3/4 of the block is worn away, the remaining piece tends to crumble into tiny chunks. If I tried to use these on an entire side of the cabinet, it would probably take over an hour vs. 5-10 minutes with coarse sandpaper. If you have a small, irregular object to strip, these blocks may be useful, but for large surfaces, they are worse than worthless.UPDATE: This is without a doubt the WORST woodworking product I have purchased. Despite some positive reviews (probably written by company employees and their families). DO NOT USE on fine woodworking projects--it leaves an awful black residue you'll have sand off anyway. Am returning as defective--it is total crap.

Get the job done but don't last long!
These are handy at stripping paint or finish off of something, but they wear out very fast. Well, they basically disintegrate into a fine black dust. I suggest when you open the package, open it outside or over a trash can. There's a bunch of black coal-like dust inside the plastic wrapping. The entire box is about enough to strip one side of a large entry door. That's how fast they wear out! Wherever you use these, you will have a large amount of fine black dust. So be prepared to clean that up.

Works great but no one said there will be blood everywhere
These are excellent for stripping down irregularly shaped items. I used them to do the round bits on antique chairs. They worked fantastic. Now, you want to wear a mask and be outside because the particles are very dusty. And God help you if you take a knee in shorts with particles on the ground. It tore through my skin and by the time I was done there was blood everywhere. My knuckles were scraped up pretty badly too. Had I realized, I probably would have put on some pants or kneepads and gloves but alas... Also, you will be feeling this stuff all around the house for days. The kitchen table where I placed the box when I brought it in when it was delivered had a little pile of black dust. My clothes I was wearing, had to go straight into the washing machine, not the hamper. My desk where I came in and did some work during sanding breaks, the bathroom, the floor inside from my shoes tracking it in. I wish I would have done a better job of keeping it contained. That being said, it made the job go very quickly. And I'll likely never refinish anything else again.

Works Well but Stinks to High Heaven
I purchased these to strip black peeling paint off of a cabinet. Yes, these smell like rotten eggs and the process leaves a fine black dust in the work area, but they do the job well. I mitigated the dust by having a vacuum on hand and vacuumed up repeatedly throughout the process. These take quite a bit of elbow grease to use, so there definitely is effort involved (although no different than sanding items by hand). This did a tremendous job of removing the peeling paint. I believe I used 3-4 blocks to strip the inside of a 68" width bathroom vanity (inside only.) I will be using the remaining blocks for other refinishing jobs around the house, as they will come in very handy. I would definitely recommend these if you are not comfortable or interested in using chemical deglossers or strippers.

Doesn't do much. Waste of money, and returning isn't worth the hassle.
I got these for my first refinishing project -- a small wood cabinet with two coats of paint on it. All these things did was make A LOT of dust and smell like rotten eggs the entire time I used them. I guess they did work a little to get a few stubborn spots, but that was only after I had used a chemical stripper and steel wool first. Doesn't do anything more than sandpaper, and makes a much bigger mess. I would return, but by the time I pay the shipping and everything else for the "money back guarantee", it would be more effort than what I paid to begin with. Still wish I had my $16 back though.
