I like the product but because is an older version hard to buy, some ads on amazon do not furnish registration key.purchased one on amazon sometime back seller did not ever furnished registration code or key.seller was not much help, so now I have sonny sound forge 10 and no registratio key

DO NOT BUY!!! There is absolutely no customer support.The phone number takes you to a message and then hangs up on you (305-722-5810). Sony sold this product to Magix Audio. When the program stopped working and I reloaded it the program it will no longer accept the serial number. The program is worthless without a working serial number. Though I like the program itself I will not buy it again because Sony sold it out to another company. And if this is the way Magix Audio treats their customers then I will never buy a product from them. This should not happen!

I recently had the privilege to write, record and mix a special radio program and decided to use Sound Forge 10, which is the software the station uses. While recording at our local radio station, I noticed that the program would drop audio in random places: I could see the audio signal on the screen, but the playback was dead silence. Upon installing a fresh copy on my home studio PC, it did the same thing! I spent valuable time going back to the source audio, copying and pasting, to replace the dead time with the exact same audio that would actually play. Thankfully I got the program finished, days before airtime... but with such a hit-or-miss problem, I do know that I would recommend it for professional use.

I don't think this is compatible with Windows 8.1. There was no way to open the files and the error message stated it had not properly downloaded and the link to iTunes that it directed me to for another app that would enable file opening was not for Windows 8.1.

Great program; fairly easy to use even though I didn't master all the finer points it is capable of.

I spent seven years in the music industry as an engineer, remixer, and editor under the moniker Mervyn "Funkmaster" Jordan, and have been using Sound Forge for 2-track editing way before Sony bought it. All this time I have been using version 6.0 which worked fine on Vista up to Windows 10. However, because 6.0 would not record in my new custom build which has a Gigabyte Aorus Master Motherboard, I decided to purchase a newer version. When I saw that I could have downloaded the free trial version I jumped at it, because it would have made getting familiar with the new interface without cost, just in case I didn't like it. However, several attempts at installing it were greeted with an error. So, I just bought it outright and it's still an awesome piece of software.

This product is a bit complicated vs audacity! I was having issues in recording my voice and audio together and needed an additional voice recorder on my computer to make it work! I didn't see the purpose of having a recording select button when it didn't record. Not sure if I want to Invest in the actual program just yet.
