Induction Cooktop
My wife loves this induction cooktop. It will heat your food much faster than a standard stove. Highly recommended.

Modern Solution
Okay, what do you do when the house you just rented still has the original 1959 stove that was installed when the house was built? You try it out, and then you get a Duxtop Induction hot plate! We were tired of waiting and waiting for the old heating elements to reach temperature, so we ordered this modern solution of a two-burner induction cooktop and set it up on top of some ceramic tile. Since we had already checked our everyday cookware by seeing if a magnet would attach to the cookware and it did, we knew our pans would function with the electromagnetic elements just fine. What is important to know is that while the burners can handle a larger pan, say a 12 inch skillet, the burners will actually only heat up the smaller circle area. Do your cooking knowing this, and just move food around in the pan appropriately. For example, if frying chicken you’ll put pieces in the center, wait for them to brown up, then move them to the sides and fill the center with more pieces, that sort of thing. The whole pan will be warm, but the center will have the most heat. Also important to know is that the temperature control feature works great! No more wondering if the oil is going to be hot enough to fry stuff. Set it to your desired temp and the burners will maintain it no problem. I love the “keep warm” feature, too. It’s great for when I’m done making a skillet supper with hamburger and macaroni or something and people aren’t ready to eat yet. Best feature, of course, is the easy clean-up of just wiping away messes. Nothing is going to burn onto the top of the glass. This best feature can also be an annoying feature, however, because if you miss any bits or don’t clean off any soapy suds, it will show up and you’ll need to go over it again with a soft, dry cloth. Not a drawback, just something to know if you have a mother-in-law coming over for inspection.Overall, this is a great product that offers instant satisfaction. It’s also portable, so if you’re RV camping and have an electric outlet to use as part of the hook-up, you can cook on your Duxtop. Or say you’re needing an extra burner for Thanksgiving or something. Works great for that. As a reminder, it is a 3-prong plug, so be sure you have that kind of outlet available. Nice product.

Works Nicely, Fans are Pretty Loud
We used this for 4 months as our cooktop while our house was being built. I liked that it could be powered from a standard 120V outlet. The only downside is that you can't turn both burners to max at the same time. The upside is that the cooktop knows how much power it can pull from the wall, so if you have one burner is at max, as you turn up a second burner, the cooker will automatically turn down the first burner to avoid overloading the wall socket. That's great for safety, but it can be annoying when you really want both burners to be able to run at max, like boiling a big pot of water and cooking something else hot at the same time.As noted in the title, the fans (one for each burner) are is pretty loud, they turn on the instant you ask for heat, and they continue to run for a few minutes after you shut a burner off. That's really the only downside for this thing. We did all our cooking on it for 4 months, and it did the job. Now it is retired to guest room duty!

Works well, expensive to operate
Reasonably happy with this product, with a few drawbacks, First, the fan is loud (not a huge deal). But the bigger issue is electricity use. When on high power, I went out to look at my electric meter and it was spinning the fastest I've ever seen. Faster than the a/c in summer. We cook a lot and our electric bill jumped by a fair bit. Also the 'power sharing" is strange when you run both burners; it pulses the heat. So if you've got rice cooking at low power, you can see the boil pulse up to a strong rolling boil, then a few seconds later drop down to almost no boil, then it repeats the cycle up, down, up down. Annoying. Two separate induction burners might have been a beter purchase for me.

Love this double induction burner, replaced our gas stovetop
After trying out induction cooking with the single burner version of this portable double burner, we loved it so much that we later bought this double burner. We cook with the three induction burners as a replacement for our gas stovetop, which we completely removed and replaced with a new countertop. The double induction burner is a nice upgrade from the single burner. My review of the single burner version contains more details about induction cooking in general, such as the high-pitched noise and needing a silicone mat to prevent your pans from sliding when water boils over, but one important thing to note about this double version is that the combined total heating level of the double burner is 10--so you can't bring two pots of water to a boil at the same time. I had read that detail in other reviews prior to purchasing and didn't think this would be a big deal, but you may be surprised how often you want to heat one pan up while a second is coming up to a boil. Luckily we have the single burner which we can use separately to boil, or we get creative with timing the bringing to a boil versus maintaining a boil, which doesn't require the highest power setting. We've had this double induction burner for four months, use it regularly, and it has worked consistently well. I definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to have a portable option (we installed a shelf below our new countertop to store the burners on when not in use) and try out induction cooking.
