Helmet is durable and very comfortable. The fold down visor works well, sheds rain and stays clear without fogging. I’m happy with my purchase which was well worth the cost.

3.5 stars rounded up. The helmet looks to be well-built, had comfortable padding and the quick release chin strap is a nice touch. The built in sliding sunshade is also nice, it was properly positioned in front of my eyes when I tried it out (I suspect that the complaints of the shade being too high were the result of the user either not pulling it down all the way or they had the helmet tilted back on their head). The only problem is in the sizing arena. It seems the manufacturer uses the same size shell (the hard outer layer) and just put different thicknesses of padding inside to make it fit different sized heads. Unfortunately, I have a small sized ... and I can verify what some other reviewers referred to as "mushroom head" ... on a small head (helmet size S) it just looks really silly and feels really top-heavy. I'm sure it's still as safe as any other DOT certified half-helmet, but the excessive sized bucket not only looks goofy, but will catch air like you wouldn't believe ... the gap between shell and my skull was nearly 2 full inches all around the circumference (not open space, it was filled with padding) ... but tip your head back and it's kinda like an umbrella catching wind. If you have a fuller sized head, this helmet should not pose the same stylistic deficiency that I encountered.

I bought this helmet and I’m loving it! It’s lightweight, comfortable, and fits perfectly. The quick-release buckle is super convenient, and the drop-down sun visor works great—no need for sunglasses. It looks sleek without that bulky mushroom shape, and I feel confident knowing it’s DOT approved. For the price, you really can’t beat the quality. Highly recommend!

I wanted to love this helmet but the vision keeps breaking. So disappointing

This is actually my second helmet from ILM, and will be my last. The first one was a Christmas present, and I have yet to use it. This one arrived fairly quick and I was excited to try it out because I just bought a new SxS. When I opened it up it seemed like a really nice helmet and I tried it on. When I pulled the sun visor down it actually was hitting my nose. I could tell something wasn't right, so I removed the helmet. I was quite shocked when the outer shell came off and the Styrofoam insert was left sitting on my head. Looking at the inner part of the helmet, I realized how cheaply made this thing actually is. The "glue" used to hold it together was nothing more than two spots that clearly never adhered to the shell, and the inner liner was literally held into the Styrofoam with nothing more than cheap packing tape. I am very disappointed with the quality of this helmet and will probably never use the first one I received for Christmas.....

From all of the helmets that I looked at on Amazon.ca this one seemed just what I needed. This helmet is unique as it is the only one I saw that has a ratchet adjustment at the back that one can turn clockwise to have it sit real tight on your head. Removing it becomes super easy as one turns the knob counterclockwise which now loosens the helmet and is now easy to take off. (I have a bicycle helmet that has the same set up) No need to shove a very tight fitting helmet on to your head and then struggle to get it off with this helmet. Since I have never rode a motorcycle I can not discuss how cool or noisy it is at 50 MPH. Now I am taking a Govt. approved motorcycle safety riding course soon where all training is done in a parking lot so this for me will be the perfect helmet. And yes the slide down sun visor is totally out of sight when it is retracted. I have to disagree as I do not call it extremely light weight at just over 2 pounds for a half face helmet. I even disagree more that the helmet is so small that it can be stored under a bike seat or slipped into a backpack. This helmet is pretty big. I would say bigger than some full face helmets at the top. I think if one falls face first flat on the ground that you would not hurt your face as the rim at the top sticks out past ones face and you would land on that and as such your face would not smash into the ground. (Now that is just what I think without any proof) I would say if one wants a half helmet that is easy to put on and take off then this is the guy.

So this is such a nice helmet if you don't have a head like mine. It is so comfortable, love the dial in the back that tightened it to my head. The viser is an extra touch that I love. But I either have a head or face type that makes me look like a mushroom head or Gazoo. I don't know if I go up a size if it will it fit lower on me. It's not this helmet. It's really nice. I wish it looked good on me. But it will protect my head. Which is what I should be concerned with. 😀
