Great deal
These are fresh-tasting, all natural, well sugared without being too crusted. The pieces are of varying sizes from small to quite large, as befits a natural product. I would NOT recommend you having them anywhere near children as a result though, as they could choke. The other warning is what I would call varying degrees of rootiness. Some pieces are super soft. Others required quite a chew, or if they are really big, a knife would be a good solution. Again, this proves it is an all natural product, not just soft candy made with cane sugar and flavoring as so many are. This is the real deal. Being it is unsulphured, it is much healthier and the taste is amazing.I gave some to my stepdad to try--I have to dole it out in little baggies for him or else he would eat the whole 3 pounds in one sitting! Great value for the price. A real winner. Better than candy!

Very Helpful and Tasty, But Occasionally Tough Pieces
First, allow me tosay that I eat this ginger nt as a candy or snack but as part of medical symptom relief. I suffer from bad headaches, among other things, that are often relieved by ginger ingestion--whether by tablet or, in this case, in crystalized form. Historically, I have used my local grocery store's generic brand of ginger. Two pieces, and relief was immediate! But when I tried these, I admit that they were difficult to take seriously. For one thing, their texture is definitely that of a gum-drop candy, and more sugar than actual ginger. However, within thirty minutes, I did experience temporary relief from my headache, nausea, and other disturbing symptoms. Whereas the Kroger brand of crystalized ginger helped for about thirty minutes, the Nuts brand maintained relief for perhaps two hours. I was amazed! I now use this ginger rather than the generic brand when I feel truly unwell, for it is much more effective. One minor qualm: About one out of every five pieces, usually the larger ones, are extremely fibrous, tough, ad, on some occasions, literally impossible to chew. Also, the ginger is very sugary, which can be a bit overpowering and intense, overshadowing the actual ginger flavoring. I usually solve this problem by simply dusting off the piece at hand--most of the sugar can be removed easily that way, leaving you with a more manageable, more enjoyable coating that adds some sweetness without taking away from the ginger itself. Those problems aside, though, this is a wonderful, helpful product that I will continue to order for its efficacy against headaches.

Nice.
I am not a connoisseur of candied ginger, but this product seems very well made. I especially like the fact that it is not sulfured.

Reduces Muscle Soreness
I love this stuff. It is something of an acquired taste, I suppose, but I have definitely acquired it! Some may say it has too much sugar, and they may be right, but I like it. I’d like to taste it with less, but I can’t find any ginger out there like this which has less per equal serving.I had read that ginger can reduce inflammation. In other words, it can help reduce muscle soreness. Like other claims of this nature, I had a laugh about it but figured I’d go on enjoying my tasty ginger candies. Well, I rock climb strenuously several hours a week and began to notice that my muscles (fingers, arms, shoulders) began to be less sore when I was eating the ginger. I’ve tested this out and really found this to be the case. (I have a friend I told about this, and he said his ginger did not do this for him, so your mileage may vary; but it certainly reduces my muscle soreness, which is wonderful!)So give it a try. Worst case, you get to enjoy a delicious piece of candy. Ginger reportedly helps our bodies in many ways besides reducing inflammation, so maybe if it doesn’t reduce your muscle soreness, maybe it will help you in other ways. Enjoy!

Doesn’t taste like ginger.
The two pound bag was great, the three pound bag had NO ginger flavor, the pieces taste like a gummy with sugar. Do not look like ginger slices either. Sorry to have bought the non-returnable three pound bag.

was better
My shopping history says I've bout this 11 times! I go through a 3lbs bag a month. I love candied ginger as a small evening treat. I love the chunkiness of the pieces compared to the thin slices of other brands. I don't however like the amount of sugar coating each piece. To fix this I rinse off the entire bag then re-dehydrate them in the oven for several hours. The flavor had been superb, nice and strong ginger taste. This was the case up through bag number 9. Bag number 10 came and the color was pale and they had absolutely no flavor. I ordered bag number 11 hoping that the last bag was just a bad batch, but it ended up being the same. Disappointed enough that I will not be buying it again.

This ginger has stopped the osteoarthritis pain in my knees.
I found this ginger to be fresh, tender, and juicy. So eating it was very pleasant. I was taking it for indigestion, which the ginger soothed, and was very surprised to discover that my knees quit hurting. One knee definitely needs to be replaced, as it is bone on bone now. I have been using synthetic synovial fluid (hyaluronic acid) injections for years but became highly allergic to them, which made my knees even more painful. However, my knees are now almost 100% better. I don’t plan to go out and jog or walk 10 miles, but now I’m able to get around the house, go to the grocery store, etc. without having sore knees. After doing some research, I found a number of medical articles that indicate ginger is an excellent anti-inflammatory. I’m a believer now, and I highly recommend nuts U.S. Nuts ginger, not only for the quality but for the value.
