DJI OSMO Pocket Part 13 - Expansion Kit

Now DJI has gone, once again, over the top on specialty equipment necessary to make your DJI OSMO Pocket much better. So here goes. As in the photos above, the 3 items are: •OSMO Pocket controller wheel •OSMO Pocket wireless module •OSMO Pocket accessory mount And as an added bonus, you will find DJI will include a Samsung 32Gb micro SD card. ☆The controller wheel allows you at your fingertip, well your thumb, it gives you the ability to control your OSMO Pocket camera the manual ability to go up and down and with the simple switch, also at your thumb tip to scroll side to side. Left/right. The 2 buttons allow you to control your Pocket much more with ease. Single and double tapping the left allows you action tracking or basic tracking. The right button allows you to scroll through your options to manipulate your pocket more involved. Far too much to fully explain in a review. ☆The wireless module allows access to your mobile device that's connected through the DJI MIMO app. When you are using this wireless module to your mobile device and using the DJI OSMO Pocket DJI Extension Rod (selfie stick) you won't have to use a wire connecting both. It just gives you so much ease and it cleans up the appearance of all you're using out there and you can focus on what you're recording or photographing, not worrying about forgetting as cord that would typically leave you helpless and your equipment useless. A great addition. ■■■ (The hard wired connections on the DJI OSMO Pocket are all TYPE C connections) ☆The OSMO Pocket accessory mount allows you to securely snap your Pocket into place and now you have the GoPro mount that you can use with all the GoPro accessories. Just slip the 2 slots built in the mount to any 3 slot GoPro accessory. You are set with DJI security attachments that will secure your OSMO Pocket with confidence and the security making sure your investment is safe and secure and you won't have a catastrophic failure and lose your OSMO Pocket. ☆Finally the Samsung 32Gb micro SD memory card will give you a great start to make your videos and photos secure and safe and then transferable to the DJI MIMO app so you can manipulate and edit all footage and stills. You can use the Sandisk Extreme Pro running currently $94.42 USD/SRP (prices vary). Its best to use minimum standard SD card ProGrade V90 UHS-11. The higher the read and write speed will help you so the Micro SD card you choose will be an investment for your higher quality of videos and photographs you take and then essentially edit. These accessories are really needed to have a complete package. Frankly, they should just come with the OSMO. But they are not perfect. The wireless module actually connects to your phone via WiFi. The bluetooth connection is used only briefly to pass the wifi password to your phone. So saying it has bluetooth capabilities is not really true. It does not allow you to connect to your phone in any useful way via bluetooth. The wifi connection works fine on my iPhone. But I cannot connect to a wifi hotspot and the Osmo at the same time. The controller wheel is handy - it's the only practical way to control the pan or tilt. But you can only control one at a time. You have to flip a switch to choose which axis you are going to control. A joystick would be much more useful, as you could control both axes at the same time. The Accessory Mount is great for attaching the Osmo to anything your heart desires. It uses a GoPro style mount which is on the back side of the handle. You'll need to dig deep into your GoPro mount collection to actually mount it to anything, because the GoPro mount faces away from the camera rather than down. It also blocks the port on the Osmo, so you have to remove the controller wheel or the teeny-tiny phone connector or the port cover to use the mount. The wireless module can stay in place. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this bundle. All three items (4 if you include the SD card) add to the usefulness of the Osmo. But they all have their own limitations as well. They make the Osmo better, but they don't make it a replacement for a higher end camera on a dedicated gimbal.

The only negative is that the control wheel isn't just built into the Pocket. It sticks out a bit and feels odd in the hand. But the functionality of the wheel and wifi are required to make good use of your Osmo Pocket. If you are using the pocket in any sort of active sport like riding in a vehicle, running, etc, the Pocket can get confused when you turn it on. It's not sure where level is (I guess). You can either double click the select button, turn it off and back on, or heaven forbid, use the touch screen to correct the problem. OR, you can quickly fix it with the control wheel. Using your phone to control the Pocket while it's sitting on a tripod or a table in the corner is perfect for un-obtrusive videos, and that's where the wifi module comes in. I even use the wifi just for pulling photos and videos off the camera, it's quicker and easier than trying to cable or connect the phone physically.

The three accessories are very useful, specially the wireless module that allows the Pocket (1 or 2) to connect to the DJI Mimo app on a phone. The only issue is that the wireless module doesn't have a way to attach it to a tripod and another accessory is needed. The price of these three accessories (around $45) is very affordable and if you mainly need wireless connectivity, this is much cheaper thant DJI's Do-It-All handle which costs around $99. If you need to attach the wireless module to a tripod, you will need the Ulanzi Tripod Adapter Base for around $10

Prima di descrivere pregi e difetti del prodotto, devo precisare che si tratta di un Amazon Warehouse. Già, la precisazione non è da poco conto, visto che, se non l'avessi saputo, avrei potuto scambiarlo per un kit nuovo di zecca: non presentava alcun segno e/o difetto. Sulla scatola (originale) c'era un bollino (un "bollone") che mi ha fatto subito ricordare che si trattava di un prodotto Warehouse. Per il resto tutto era perfetto, scatola compresa. Ho subito verificato il funzionamento dei singoli pezzi ed ho apprezzato la leggerezza e l'immediata connessione. Modulo Wifi Il modulo wifi fa il suo dovere, la risposta alla digitazione sul cellulare (con l'app originale DJi) è istantanea e non ho notato differenze rispetto alla connessione fisica col cavo. In sostanza, senza il fastidio del cavetto, si può comandare a distanza la Osmo Pocket. Controller Wheel Un po' duro l'inserimento sulla Osmo Pocket, però, a parte questo che può essere considerato anche un pregio (non si staccherà mai da sola), il funzionamento dell'accessorio è perfetto e semplifica decisamente l'uso della camera. Anche in questo caso, risposta immediata della Osmo alle rotazioni della rotellina ed alla pressione dei pulsanti. Ho trovato un po' macchinoso il passaggio dall'asse orizzontale a quello verticale, sarebbe stato meglio inserire una sorta di minijoystick (tipo quello dei comandi della Nintendo Switch che si muovono in ogni direzione). Comunque promossa. Accessory mount Per me l'unico accessorio superfluo, visto che ho altri adattatori che lo sostituiscono. Però devo dire che è ben fatto e il bloccaggio della camera è davvero saldo, benché una volta inserita nell'imbracatura, diventi inaccessibile la slitta dove si inserisce l'adattatore usb. Scheda Microsd Me ne ero dimenticato ma c'era anche un'ottima scheda della Samsung... non bastano mai, quindi mi fa comunque comodo. Istruzioni E qui apriamo un capitolo a parte... o siete alti 15 centimetri e vi chiamate Puffo Brontolone, Grande Puffo, ecc.. o saranno decisamente illeggibili! Ma dico io, come si fa a mettere delle istruzioni scritte con caratteri così... così... microscopici! Va bene che bastano dieci minuti per capire il funzionamento degli accessori, ma due righe (leggibili) le potevano anche mettere. D'altra parte lo stile DJI (per quanto riguarda le istruzioni) lo avevo già "apprezzato" con l'Extension Rod: quel foglietto rigato l'ho dovuto guardare due volte per capire che erano le istruzioni e che le righe erano parole!! Mi è passata per il cervello l'idea di prendere la lente d'ingrandimento (non scherzo), poi ho rinunciato ed ho cercato in internet le istruzioni. Conclusioni Istruzioni a parte, gli accessori originali DJI sono perfetti. Il kit è -secondo me- un ottimo acquisto che aumenta le potenzialità della Osmo Pocket. Amazon Warehouse è stata una scelta azzeccata. Sono soddisfatto.

I got an Osmo Pocket to use as an extra camera for live stage performances, where I will be tracking performers around the stage using the camera's phone app. To trigger this, I bought this bundle for the WiFi adapter to get a direct feed of the camera to my phone and it works seamlessly! Great video quality, very useful for controlling camera settings and adjusting ISO and it connects consistently with no issues. I wish the Wifi module had a 1/4" jack on the bottom for a tripod but no big deal. The module re-locates the USB-C port to the rear of the camera, and I was able to record for 3 hours straight with the camera powered by a USB Battery. Next is the wheel adapter which again, works really nicely for low-controlled pans and tilts. I like how you only control 1 axis at a time - it allows for very smooth up/down/left/right movement with no wobble. Can't re-map the buttons, I wish I could bring up options or something with them. The mount it comes with is a bit useless for me. It's big and bulky with the GoPro-style adapter around the back, and you can't attach it with the controller module also in use. The 32gb Micro SD card is a nice feature but I wish it was a 64gb or even 128gb for shooting 4k24. However 32gb is probably fine for casual use. Good set overall and I'd recommend it!

El más indispensable de todos, el control del gymball con la ruleta, la verdad que si piensas usar la osmo sin el móvil, es una gozada, y te dará ese plus de escenas "cinematrograficas" al poder ir moviendo la gymball a medida que te desplazas. El contra, es que siempre hay que estar quitandolo para que entre en la funda original... El modulo de conexión wifi, conectado a la primera con un Note 8. La rueda de control ya te anula la conexión con el móvil a través de cable, por lo que no te queda otra. Va bastante bien, sin cortes ni nada parecido. La verdad que estos accesorios ayudan a mantener un tamaño compacto del Osmo y al mismo tiempo proporcionarle más versatilidad. La calidad de construcción se ve buena. El accesorio de montaje gopro no lo he probado.

Het is fijn om je DJI Osmo Pocket te kunnen bedienen zonder dat hij aan de telefoon vast zit. Is toch een wat gammele aansluiting. Zeer aan te bevelen.

I won’t lie, I bought this mostly for the control wheel. MUCH easier to keep an object in shot or set up a shot quickly before hitting record. The wireless module is extremely handy for dropping photos and videos quickly to your device or using your photo As a remote viewfinder or remote shutter. I like how the module can be used as a tripod to stand the camera in place. Disappointing how the original case does not fit with accessories attached.
