Excellent construction and in use
Impressive stand for the price point. Note that premium stands go for $800 and up, low end below $100, so this sits at the 'better than cheap' and the design appears to live up to it. Note that another review about the main clutch joint being plastic is partially true, the base appears to be metal, but the clutch half is plastic. This isn't necessarily a negative, the designers have to balance cost and pricepoint, but I think the way to treat this stand is to be careful how you set it up. Make sure you have the boom arm balanced, and fortunately they give us plenty of options to manage this with the configurable and generous counterweight. In practice it's easy to do, and means you don't have to cinch the boom clutch too much. Otherwise I have no negatives, it easily rolls over carpet and hard surfaces, has wheel locks, extends to a good height, is absolutely stable with the large cast iron base, and the fit and finish is excellent. For the price it's a bargain, just be considerate of your boom clutch and you should get many years of use out of it.

Boom’n Room
I use this in a confined recording booth. It’s very manageable and works perfectly. Love he counterweight configuration. Very durable, stable and perfect for recording with a U-87 or weighty mic.

Terrible In Nearly Every Way
What looks like a good budget option for booming a microphone is a nightmare in disguise. Upon opening the box, you’ll first be greeted by the dreaded crumbling styrofoam that you just know you’ll be picking up until the end of time. Things then start to look up as the base and wheels appear sturdy and of good quality. Unfortunately, your optimism is short lived as You deform the included wrench while installing the wheels. Yes, included tools are usually not of high quality, but they should be strong enough to do the intended job. Moreover, this wrench is quite thin in order to fit where you need it and your average wrench from a quality manufacturer won’t fit. Thus, if you managed to get all the wheels on, they most likely aren’t coming off in a non-destructive manner. Finally, as you start to use the stand, you notice a wheel lock is nearly impossible to use, the cable clips won’t hold a cable, the adjustment knobs are already showing wear, and the you’re forced to twist the pole to attach the microphone instead of just twisting on the shock mount. Amazon refunded my purchase without asking for a return and I’m still not going to keep using this stand. I don’t want the story to end with it falling and destroying a microphone amongst other things. I strongly suggest looking at alternatives.

Great Stand, Built like a Sherman Tank
This thing is built like military surplus. It is a tank, very stable, the heavy movable counter weight makes it breeze to use with the heaviest microphone you can imagine and have it stay where you want it.. You could probably mount a medium size camera from it as well. My only complaint is the single mounting system. I had to buy and adapter to mount my small Rode directional mike. The tubing expands considerably which enables the stand to be used where smaller booms would not be large enough. It was a choice between this stand and a less expensive stand and I think the extra money was worth it. If you are very small, this might be a bit difficult to horse around. It is heavy, but it is really built.

Good, but not quite perfect
Overall, it's a good mic stand. It's not an Atlas, but it's good. I have 2 of these and the clutch handle stripped on the boom arm in less than a year on the first one. The Ultimate Support people were very helpful and sent me a replacement clutch, but it did not work either. After calling them, they then sent me a bushing replacement. I hope this does the job, but have not tried it yet. The MC-125 is a good heavy stand, but it would be better if the few plastic parts it has were made with metal like the rest of the stand. And the company is trying hard to stand behind their product.

Excellent stand - exceeded my expectations!
Exactly what I hoped it would be! I was concerned that the bases may not be heavy enough but I have large tube mics that I am now completely confident suspending high over head with these stands. I bought two then bought a third a year later . They are extremely solid with the locking wheels, easy to move and very very versatile. I highly recommend. The only issue I’ve had is that the clutch mechanism seems to stick when loosening and tends to have to be popped into motion, but not a significant issue. Very good stand especially for the cost.

Mostly like it
This is a well made stand, BUT the actual stand that screws into the base only screws in a couple of turns, so I'm a little worried it might pop out. I grabbed a pair of channel lock pliers and really cinched it down as tight as I could, so hopefully that works. Wish it was threaded better. Everything else about the stand is great! Just hoping my mic doesn't come crashing down because the stand came loose from the base!

A beast of a mic stand, no knocking this one over.

Ultra Tank Update...bought a second one and it is a Tank also... no issues with the locking parts yet. This one seems less well produced than my first one, The wheels do not thread well and i stripped the supplied tool trying to get them on properly. Also the main pole is a little crooked when screwed in fully. I may have gotten a refurb. The wheels looked used a little and the barcode next to the serial number has been ripped down the middle. ???? Aside from that it is a great stand.

Pretty heavy-duty, I don’t anticipate any “flimsy” knob or assembly issues in my studio setup. (Don’t turn the knobs passed just-tight—no need to go further; there’s visible internal sleeves binding the joint, so no need to tighten to an extreme.) It’s beefy and supports a heavy Warm tube mic and not much floor noise travels beyond the rubber wheels; just love this stand.
