WOW -- Awesome product !!
This is an awesome product. The set it up was easy, used it for the first time yesterday and it worked flawlessly. The temp never strayed further than one degree from set temp (up or down) during the eight hour cook. The only issue was figuring out how to mount the fan on the air inlet for the firebox of my Old Country gravity feed smoker. I looked for fittings that would match up thread wise with the small pipe mount provided with no luck. I finally resorted to some "country boy engineering" and mounted the pipe mount to a reducer using JB Weld. It ain't pretty, but worked just fine.

Great machine
I love it. I have a large ceramic Louisiana brand kamado from Costco. Installing the fan port was easy, and instructions were simple to follow. I wanted to cook the butt at 225, so I set the machine for 225, with an internal meat temp of 165. The fan kept the pit at 225, and when internal meat temp hit 165 I wrapped the butt and cooked on to internal temp of 195. The pit stayed at 225 throughout the cook. Today, I used the DigiQ to set my pit at 375 for beer-can chicken, and again it worked perfectly. When the chicken was done, I threw a big salmon filet on the pit for about 15 minutes, and it also turned out perfectly. I do wish that the DigiQ was like the Pit Boss 400 and had Bluetooth or WiFi capability, but it works great without those features. Sure would be handy to put a brisket on before work and control the temp from the office - but I couldn’t justify the price for the Pit Boss. Side note: the temperature gauge on my Louisiana grill was dead on with the DigiQ after the temp stabilized. Second side note: If you can get your hands on it, use Lazzari mesquite lump charcoal. The flavor it puts on meat is incredible.

Wow. Just Wow. Makes using the BGE a breeze (no pun intended!)
Works great. Just set it up, and it keeps the pit temperature right where you want it and lets you know when the food temperature has reached your target. I love it--I just wish I'd bought the upgraded version with a connection to my iPhone.

Game Changer!!
After I destroyed a $75 prime brisket I knew something had to change. This product is great and takes all of the guessing out of smoking. The Digi-Q fits really well on my Big Green Egg and really didn't have to do much in order to get a good seal. It's very easy to set-up, but the instructions could use some help. They're not written very well and can be very confusing. YouTube helped tremendously!

How much easier can it get?
I always wanted a Big Green Egg, but could never justify the cost. I did a little wheeling & dealing with my local dealer on a trade in, and finally got one. The next three months were spent reading, going on-line for recipes, and learning what accessories to purchase. This is the best accessory I could have purchased. Perfect right from the box. I was impressed with it immediately. It is so simple to use, even I did it. The probes seem to be sturdy, attachment is easy, and the leads are plenty long enough to use about anywhere you want to place the unit, while cooking. Initial setup was easy even lying on a concrete floor, outside, at 30 degrees, in a stiff wind, to put the damper controller in. Everything fell into place. After everything was set, I went in the warm house and let this thing take control. The cooking dome (pit) temperature was maintained exactly in line with my Egg thermometer, and when the core temperature of the meat reached the set point, the alarm sounded that my meat (Boston Butt for first attempt) was done. Temperature was maintained for the full 10-hours my meat was cooking, and the one time I opened the dome to peek inside, the fan kicked in to quickly recover the lost heat, then settled back down. This product did everything it said it would and everything I expected from it. It is easy to set, hook-up, and use. I am sure that with simple care this should last a long time.

Works, but expensive and lacks bluetooth/wifi to control device.
For the price I would think this should have bluetooth/wifi capabilities to control the device. It would also be nice to have something that is water proof so that one can use this device without worry of rain coming through during a long smoke. Overall this device holds a good solid temp once you figure out your pit and the damper of the BBQ guru.

Solid bare-bones controller
Installed on a WSM 18inch. Installation was easy, covered two holes on a damper and installed adapter on the third hole. Setup is easy, two probes and two cords. I picked up an external battery pack so I wouldn’t need to run an extension cord. Ran me another $30 and runs it for 16+ hours. This thing has no issue keeping a consistent temp for 8+ hours before I even need to pop open the fire box and fiddle with anything. Then it’s good for the rest of the smoke. I didn’t care about wireless or Bluetooth, I just wanted something that’d do the work. It does. I use the two-probe wireless sensor I already had if I want to monitor from inside. The beauty of this compared to some others I looked at is the large, well lit display. I can read it from across the yard or in the house (my eyes are pretty good) and tell that it’s at-temp and how hard the blower is working to keep it there. This model isn’t fancy. But what it lacks in features it makes up in accuracy and ease or use.

How did I live without this? 7 yrs no problems
Perfect gift. I’ve been smoking for about three years and used to babysit my smoker every two hours. I fell asleep last week and my smoker went cold. I was told that electronica temperature control for a smoker was “cheating“ but that is not the case. This is the greatest invention in the history of smoking. No longer do I need to wait up to check the temperature. It does a fantastic job. There is a cheaper version of this product that uses batteries. I would highly recommend this version though as the other version can chew them up in six hours and I can smoke for 16. I highly recommend this as a gift for anyone that you know that loves to smoke.
