Difficult to hold
This knife is really heavy compared to my others, the blade and the handle both contribute. The blade is really sharp and cuts easily through difficult items such as squash and swede, oh and my finger which bled for hours! It is a good knife but I do find it difficult to hold, the blade is long and combined with the weight, reserved for the tougher things to cut. It’s not dishwasher safe and requires instant cleaning and drying to preserve the blade.

Very large, decent kitchen knife
This knife is quite some size, and is very well made. It is, as you would expect from a new knife, incredibly sharp. It comes in a presentation box with a leaflet giving instructions on how to care for the knife. I was very impressed with the quality and the handle is beautiful, just don't put it in the dishwasher. The instructions also tell you to clean it regularly during use and to clean it straight after use. Let's face it, if you are paying £50 for a knife you would want to take care of it.The Chef in the family also thinks it's decent quality, he has used it more than me.

Sharp
Brilliant knife. I have never owned such a good quality knife before and you can tell the difference. It feels like quality in your hand and is super sharp to glide through food preparation. It comes in a smart box too.

Great knife, good balance, but limited lifespan
This is an absolutely awesome cook's knife. It is quite heavy, but well balanced, with a thick handle that allows for precision when cutting. It is wide, allowing you to cut through large chunks of meet consistently. It is very sharp, and tested against a variety of textures performes excellently. It is fairly pricey, but worth the money. To top it all off, it comes in a lovely box.Update: 7 months down the line it has lost sharpness. Tried to resharpen it with standard sharpening tool, but damaged it, so not too chuffed.

Good enough
Well balanced chef's knife. comes supplied in a presentation box, with plastic covers over several parts of the blade. There are instructions for maintenance and upkeep (the blade requires regular wiping when in use, should not be put through a dishwasher, and should be dried immediately after hand washing). The knife is sharp and cuts well and easily - the blade has a patterned, ultra shiny finish and, despite being made from red pakkawood, the handle is also shiny looking bright red.The knife is good quality, although perhaps not top quality. Its cheaper than the Global I have but I prefer the latter.

A serious kitchen knife
This is a beautifully crafted knife; heavy, sharp with a solid handle and sculptured blade. It is a work of art as much as a kitchen utensil. It makes a great present for a serious chef. Expensive, but quality product, well presented in a presentation box.

Chef Quality
This is a serious chefs quality knife. It is heavy and very sharp. I only use this for filleting and meat mainly and it slices through meat and glides when I fillet fish. It is a precision instrument. It feels nice and the handle is lovely. It makes you feel like a three star Michelin chef.It is very sharp and I would not like to use it for anything else. I guess you would need to have this sharpened professionally or get a sharpening block.Very nice knife and glides through meat and fish like a hot knife through butter. If looked after this knife will last years.

Gorgeous knife and packaging which is heavy and wonderful to use (very sharp though!)
This knife has beautiful packaging which would make it very special for a gift. This was just for me but I appreciated the packaging anyway! It took me a few seconds to work out how to get into the box although decided it was probably my stupidity that caused that - I found that a side flap lifted up....The knife is big, heavy and is well balanced. There are exotic, geometric designs on the blade which are very stylish. I think I want to have this on display rather than in a drawer, although think that might scare visitors away. From opening the box, I have to admit that I was slightly scared of how sharp this knife looks. This made me treat it was huge respect but I still managed to cut my hand when I first used it (only a tiny cut but it did bleed). Consequently I've decided to keep it in the plastic cover that is supplied as it'll keep it safe.... well mostly!Amazingly you can't put it in the dishwasher but I might try anyway. The main reason I wouldn't is that you wouldn't want anyone touching the blade by mistake as a finger could be lost!
