Lippert Components 432696 Alumi-Tread Triple Manual Step , Black

Hanger Box was already on camper. This step fit exactly in said box. Cutting skirt was not a problem, cut 1.5 inches long, and folded it back with a rubber hammer. Staples held as a finish. Replaced a factory set of Lippert Solid Step. That thing is terrible, , jams door, heavy and hard to store, and deploy, dumps sand and water inside camping unit, NOT a well planned update! These traditional steps are a VAST improvement over the Solid version. Door now closes, and we have a nice sturdy set of steps. Installed the triple step version, perfect fit, If you are tired of the hassle of Solid Step, get this piece of equipment, 2 hours work, and you are good to go! used a floor jack to lift the set in place, no hassle at all. Dealer quoted over $500, plus labor of making a box. They did not even know the box was installed! What a rip they would have been!

Just what i expected from Lippert. Very well made and went in very easy. Looks great, works great.

good replacement for damaged steps

For fold out steps, these are pretty solid. We already had these on the front door of our Grand Design, and decided to replace the "solid steps" on the main door with another set of these. I know folks loooove the solid steps, but for us they fit our needs. The aluminum-tread are quick and easy to open/close and don't get any dirt inside - especially when you're packing up on a rainy muddy day.

Let me first start off by saying I'm a union electrician for 25 years I know how to read a tape measure. The quality of this product is top notch!! Fit and finish is great. Ease of install, 4 bolts, would be made much easier if someone knew how to read a tape measure!! Here's the big problem. The stairs fit into a fix welded frame underneath the door frame of your rig. That frame opening is 28" dead nuts. That frame opening is welded and there is almost no wiggle room!! The old steel black quad steps had a frame, guess what, 27 15/16" wide. So just a hair under the door frame. The new stairs have a frame housing that is 28 1/4" wide!! Hello McFly. To big. With the help of a floor jack, bottle nose jack, a large mallet, and some 2x4, and a little lube, I was able to squeeze 28 1/4" steel stair frame into the frame underneath the RV door. It is in there but eventually the frame housing will create stress cracks in the welds. Gotta do better with measuring and fabrication. Just my two cents.

Not to hard to install by yourself but a second person to help you is recommended. They look great and are sturdy. They make my camper look a lot better.

I have always trusted the quality of Lippert products. The measurement width is about 1/2" shy of what is listed on Amazon, but for me that turned out to be a good thing. This is a two person removal of the old steps and installation of these Lippert steps. I had to upgrade from a 3 step to a 4 step because I had to have a lift kit installed on our 5th wheel. I should have rated this product with 4 stars because it did not come with new mounting hardware, so I had to reuse the hardware from the 3 step I removed.

Step a little wider than the bracket after a few choice words and a little work we got it in works good fit perfectly when folding and unfolding.

The stairs are better and sturdier than the originals. Keep the old bolts because they were not supplied. Easy install and delivery was just as promised.
