True love gets an outrageous reception in this "intelligent, surprising [and] funny" (The Village Voice) comedy set at a 1950s radio show. Starring Barbara Hershey, Keanu Reeves and Peter Falk, Tune in Tomorrow is "funny, original" (Leonard Maltin) and "thoroughly entertaining" (Gene Siskel)! When radio reporter Martin (Reeves) falls for his sexy aunt Julia (Hershey), the stations zany soap opera writer Pedro (Falk) decides to play Cupid and broadcast the details! Courtship soon turns to chaos with Martins love life in shambles, Julia in disgrace and irate listeners rioting in the streets. Everyone will have to tune in tomorrow to discover how it all turns out!

Two for the Price of One
This is really two movies for the price of one. One movie is a surrealistic, plodding, repetitive comedy about a crazy radio writer (Peter Falk) & the outrageous, somewhat distasteful soap opera he writes. One particularly terrible scene has the writer giving his leading man tips on better acting through masturbation. The second movie, to which I give 4 stars, is a delightful, whimsical romantic comedy about an idealistic would-be writer (Keanu Reeves) & the prodigal aunt (Barbara Hershey) he courts, under the not-too-helpful influence of that crazy writer from the first movie.Barbara Hershey is believable & appealing as a nervous 36-year-old double-divorcee, trying to convince herself she doesn't believe in romance anymore. The real delight though is Keanu Reeves, an absolute knock-out in this movie. His sweet, silky Southern accent & fluid delivery of lines that include a dreamer's eye view of Paris are entrancing. Keanu's physical acting & gift for comedy are put to wonderful use in a scene which has him climbing over church pews in pursuit of Peter Falk. I don't want to give too much away by describing in detail the best moment in the movie, when Keanu's face is instantly transformed from jealous trance to ideal love; suffice it to say it's near the end & very much worth the wait.

Deeply Confused by the Bad Reviews
I saw this film when it first came out, 21 years ago. It had stayed with me over the years as a personal favorite, so, having read the bad reviews here and elsewhere online, I was nervous that a second viewing would be a disappointment. I'm happy to say that it is as wonderful a film as I remember it being. "Pedro Carmichael" might be my favorite Peter Falk role. He plays it with such cavalier insanity, and with such glee, I can't help but get caught up in it. Barbara Hershey is wonderful as the "black sheep" aunt. Sexy too! Keanu is convincing as a lovesmacked young guy. You really want him to get the girl. I love the political incorrectness (Falk's character really abuses Albanians), as it is so outrageous it can't be mistaken for reality. The cast is stellar - there's not a bad performance in the bunch. And the script and direction are both good! This is a delightful little work of art, and I recommend it very highly.

A period piece
This is a film that was cut a bit too tightly, and it shows at times. It's a great Peter Falk venue to show off his ability to be truly absurd, but the love story between the leads is far less interesting than the cast of characters that Falk's character creates and personally portrays as a crazy soap opera writer in the fading glory days of radio.Theres also some subtle bits to watch for from the rest of the cast, but Falk's character has a tendency to bulldoze them aside horribly from importance as the great manipulator of events.

One of my top 10
So OK- Keanu Reeves will never be a great actor, but this film is worth repeat screenings just to watch Peter Falk's comic masterpiece. If you are of Albanian ancestry, be prepared to split a gut laughing!

Entertaining
Read the book instead: Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter. Oddly, neither the book nor the movie provided a convincing romance, but the stories are so entertaining that I liked both anyway. The book is much funnier than the movie, maybe because you can imagine Julia and her young swain to your own liking rather than having to watch a wooden Keanu Reeves and the painfully frantic Barbara Hersey. Peter Falk was great as Pedro.

Love Nola? Get it!
Great performance from Peter Faulk. Many familiar faces in the large cast. Most of the hilarious lines are uttered as part of the radio soap written by Faulk's character, Pedro Carmichael. Seems Pedro has issues with Albanians. Pedro has issues, period. Great scenes shot in and around New Orleans, fab music from Mr. Marsalis. Overlooked, underrated movie.

Nothing Worth Viewing
Oh heavens. This was a total disaster of a movie. I loved Peter Falk, but he was misused and script abused in this movie. Keanu Reeves and whoever the leading lady was were YUCK as well as mis-cast. The only funny thing in it was the remarks bout the Albanians - but nothing else of merit.

Tune in Tomorrow
I adore this movie and I wanted to share it with friends on a movie night. To my dismay, I found I only had it on video tape. Fortunately, I was able to order a copy on DVD and received it in perfect condition and in time for our movie night. I would order from this seller again.

Creditable Movie of a Genius Novel
Don't expect a faithful translation of Vargas-Llosa's brilliant novel. That is on so many levels and is so full of incident that it could probably only be faithfully represented by a 6-part TV movie. But this is a most enjoyable movie in its own right and has 3 superb leading players. If you're a Vargas-Llosa disciple, you'll have this in your collection anyway. If you love involved comedy dramas, as a 1950s pastiche, then buy this and enjoy.

Very funny adaption of the Mario Vargas Llosa book
I had just read the book by Mario Vargas Llosa and I must say I laughted a lot watching the movie. Although the story was changed a bit from the book I think it worked well. I liked the cast, Peter Falk is hilarious and the chemistry was good between Keanu Reeves and Barbara Hershey. It was funny to see the radio actors who played all the characters in the radio play, and how they switched from real life to the stories in the radio play.

Continuously funny - unless you are Albanian!
We enjoyed this film for its quirkiness and laughed a lot throughout. We found the Albanian puns were totally OTT - just as they were designed to be. Peter Falk was excellent and we have just purchased a DVD copy for rainy nights needing entertainment.
