ASUSSDRW-08U1MT internal slim 8X DVD writer(BULK), 9.5 mm with bezel, M-DISC support, E-Green, E-Media

I purchased this as a direct replacement for a drive damaged beyond repair by the drawer being left open whilst a chair was moved past it - yes, I do feel really silly!The drive was for a Lenovo P620 workstation with a massive multicore ThreadRipper CPU and more RAM than you can shake a stick at, but this drive would work just as well for a laptop or another computer that needs a 9.5mm drive.Fitting was simple - push the button inside the case, pull out the damaged drive, and push the new one in. If only the documentation from Lenovo had told me that before I took the whole machine apart! Still, once I had worked it out and put the housing back together, pushing the drive into it was enough to bring it back to life.The tray on the drive felt a little less smooth than normal initially, but after a day or two it was back to being as smooth as the original - so it seems it is designed that way. I have now been using it for a couple of months without any problems at all, and it has been really heavily used.It is a great product at really good price when I bought it, and I recommend it very highly.

Item well packed and delivered quickly. Dvd works perfectly in my Asus laptop.

I needed an optical drive to go in a W11 Inspiron 3020 and this Asus SDRW-08U1MT drive fits perfectly.The drive requires two M2 x 2mm long screws to secure it, which meant filing down a couple of M2 x 3mm from this handy kit of computer screws.It works a treat in the PC which includes a TV, and with a nice 32” monitor and good speakers it is also the heart of the hifi and can play all the DVDs and CDs in the collection.

Used an an external caddy, worked better than the cheap rubbish that you get from other sellers.Best way to do is what I did, buy a usb3 caddy and an internal writer.

Decent DVD player/recorder or the money, prompt delivery

This is a very good drive, easy to install, and works well. For the cheap cost you have no fancy extras. However most home users will not find this a problem?.
