Brilliant product. Our caique loves this, and the ability to quickly disconnect it so we can move the cage around is very helpful. We were concerned he might chew the wire but so far no problems.Be aware that birds are naturally wary of new things. It took Charlie a good few weeks to finally make friends with the heater. We had some awkward moments, like after installing the heater next to his sleeping perch, he simply avoided that perch for days. But it's all good now.Our method:- Expose him to the heater outside the cage for a few days until he's comfortable with it.- Put it in the cage every morning so he can interact with it all day, but remove it at night so it doesn't put him off his sleep.- When he seems comfortable enough, trial leaving it in there overnight. Once he tolerates it overnight, you're good to go.We found that once he figured out that it's warm, the rest came naturally.

Central heating is non existent so bought a reptile heat lamp but had a few 2nd thoughts then decided to buy the med/larger warmer. Needs a US to UK adaptor 13a240v. Have also attached to a Tapo WiFi plug and got a Govee home therm. So I keep an eye. Have positioned mine horizontally as I have 6 Birbs but they take turns. I cover them with an Argos fleece throw at night and have monitored the heat for safety and tbh it only gets slightly warm. So enough to quite aptly snuggle against. Probably raises the whole cage around 1.5 degrees if that.

My cockatiels absolutely love this. I leave it on 24/7 and have put a flat perch under, they sit next to it whenever they want and fall asleep, it's a slight warmth, nothing high. You can keep your hand on it, it's not harmful.
