The size of this Strop is just right there is quality leather is on both the rough and smooth side of this Strop. The Mfg. is using quality hardware in it's construction, making it simple to attach where it's being used. Selling Dealer : Cutlery USA was quick to ship and strop was in a full sized box, so the Strop was not coiled up as some shippers do a Strop and making them harder to get flat. This strop was a good deal for the money. It was a high quality strop. And the extra width was nice. No flaws and was shipped straight not bent which was nice. I would recommend it to anyone.

Shipped in box without rolling up = PLUS. Item arrived promptly = PLUS Now for the negatives....... It's a bonded smooth leather strip so thin bonded to the suede it's pitiful. REAL hide has a thickness way more than this. Made in Pakistan, which no doubt means assembled in Pakistan from hides from half dead animals from the driest regions of Africa. I bought for finals on knives NOT razors and I doubt this will last more than 200 or so. Accordingly, the price is way too high for what you get as advertised for knives. Honestly, in my business, I expected more from the product that has so many good reviews. I'm better off in my case going to the local Goodwill and purchasing a couple of used pant belts for around 5 bucks. Sending it back for a refund.

Looked at various brands and types of strops and chose this one based on online reviews but also good friend who besides being a carpenter is a blade nut. He told me he got his from a friend as a gift who is a barber and uses this strop for his straight blade razors. Took my Kershaw Blur that had broken down a dozen or so Amazon boxes for recycling which was not so sharp and after a few strokes and each side of this strop you could used it for shaving.

I bought this because I have never used one of these to sharpen a knife. I added ertwo types of compound on one side and softener on the other. After using it on a couple of knives I was very pleased. I never had a blade so sharp and shiny. Glad I made this purchase! Before using it research on how to use it.

Came shipped in a bag not a box so it got bent and creased in a couple places, Leather was very dry and is very thin. Had to apply leather conditioner to use without fear of tearing, cracking or cutting into the creases. Might be worth 1/3 of the price I paid.
