Powell Golden Dragon Complete Skateboard - Flying Dragon (7.625" x 31.625")

I bought 3 of these (1 for myself and 2 for my kids) and I'm happy with my purchase. If you want the short version of my review, here it is: this is an awesome first board for kids and adults alike. If you are looking for a good board on the cheap, buy it. And now on to the more detailed review...## Wheels / BearingsThe basic tradeoff on wheels is: softer wheels give you increased ease/smoothness of ride and harder wheels are better for doing tricks and they roll faster. The wheels this board ships with are 99a Durometer (the "hardness" rating) which are on the harder/trick-friendly side of the spectrum. They are 54mm in diameter which is a great all-around size and a good starting point for somebody who doesn't know what they want yet. The bearings are actually pretty good and the wheels roll smoothly.## TrucksThe Trucks came set up pretty much how I like them (though it's subjective and you might want to fine-tune them). They seem to be OK quality. Maybe a tiny bit flimsy but we'll see how they hold up. They are pretty impressive for the price of the board (you can buy trucks that alone cost about as much as this complete board).## DeckThe deck is pretty standard. Seems to have a good amount of stiffness/pop. The griptape isn't bad (which I only mention because the griptape on so-called Walmart boards is a disgrace). The design looks pretty good.## SummaryFor the price, it seems like the value here is hard to beat. I wanted to get my kids and I something we could learn on but didn't want to break the bank. This board is perfect for that. All 3 of us have been skating every day and the boys are practicing tricks already.

Powell Golden Dragon SkateboardI purchased this as a beginner. The price was right, and the actual quality of the board, bearings, wheels, and trucks felt solid to me. The dragon design was very appealing as well. The bushings were a medium compound. It felt very stable in a straight line, but was pliable enough for good feel while turning.The board comes with a DVD that has some instructional videos and explained how the board was assembled. I thought the video was mediocre, and there are better instructions for beginners available on YouTube. One of the record holders for ollies literally phoned in a voice-over for a section of the video.After several falls, the board is fairly scraped but everything is holding together. The wood is not delaminating and all of the components are functional.Overall: 5/5 stars

I bought this for my son so he could try skateboarding. I didn't want to buy something cheap because then it would be too hard to learn, however I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something he may not like. This was perfect. He loved the designs and it comes with a tutorial DVD on the basics. We watched it together and then went out and practiced.The board is solid quality and I was impressed with the graphics. The wheels and bearings were also good quality. One of the bearings started going out a few months after purchase. I emailed for a replacement with a phone video clip of the wheel spinning and they mailed a replacement right away. Great support for the replacement.My son wanted me to skateboard with him, so I ended up purchasing the "Powell Golden Dragon Two Dragons 2" for myself. It probably wasn't made for an old fat guy, but it held up great and I was just as happy with mine.Based off the customer support, quality of the equipment, and price point - I would highly recommend this as a beginner board. The packaging it came in from Amazon was HORRID, but it's a skateboard so not really a big deal.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my son. I used prime and was sooo happy not to have to be in Toys R Us, Target or any such place. I did most of my shopping on prime. He is now using it since it is warm out again and it seems to be very sturdy. I never used a skateboard as a kid, but my Husband can ride it without the board breaking and that is good enough for me. This seems like a good purchase for a beginner. My son is happy and so then so am I. On a side note the packing was not so good as the board was sticking out when UPS delivered it and my son saw the board, I told him I was giving it to someone else ( I don't think he believed me ). Amazon gave me a credit for my trouble which I appreciated but that is why I did not give 5 stars.

We're beginner skaters, but the skateboard has worked really well for us. It's a great size for my nearly adult sized child, it rides smoothly, and it seems quite durable. The design and colors are fun. It was purchased for a female, and would work for anyone design-wise. It's being used regularly, and it was really easy to get started.

Well-made skateboard, reasonably priced, great graphics. My granddaughter was very happy!
