This is how you make a prequel!
Making a prequel is hard, especially in the world of movies and video games. More often than not, they are bad. But Red Dead Redemption 2 is the prime example of how to make a great prequel and even make better than the 1st. Granted, the 1st game was more simple in its story and characters, but it was in the mysterious past and backstory of John Marston that helped in making things more interesting. Well, RDR2 takes all of that and expands on the lore and mysterious past behind what led to the 1st game. It's amazing to me that it all worked out as it did because this kind of story could easily fall apart in any way. But the writers and developers kept things tight in its execution and made it work. If anything, RDR2 makes the 1st game even more important and interesting. The gameplay and graphics are the biggest highlight. We have a come a long way in how games can look in the years since the Xbox and Playstation came into power. The way you can go about your missions and traveling the open world is very much like the Wild West (in video gaming). The main issues I have with the game is the Wanted System and how it tries to be too realistic. But it ultimately doesn't matter when the rest of the game is done amazingly well. It honestly makes me want to see another prequel set in the beginnings of the Gang's formation. This could very well be the best reverse order storytelling ever done for narratives when it comes to video games. All I can say is: Go buy and play this game!

It's a pretty good game for me
First Amazon asked me to write a review for the seller, then denies it because it should be a review for the game... Anyway this review is for the game. 10/10/2020 bought I hesitate to buy this game when it was released because I thought it would be redundant like most of the newly released games and thought it was not worth the price. I was wrong. But glad I bought it . This is somewhat a survival game. You need to watch your health and take care of the "gang's" camp. There are so many missions, and it is truly an open world game, just the way I like it. But very different from FO4 or Skyrim. It is very realistic because if you do not take care of yourself you could die from sickness or starvation. This was my first playthrough, hopefully, I can do better on my second playthrough. If you like strategy games that is open world, I would definitely recommend this game. It won't allow you to fall asleep. This is no 30 hour games then you are done. This has a lot of games within games... Take your time learning this game, and NEVER, I repeat, NEVER ever look up how to play this game because this game is worth every dollar. Good luck. EDIT: 10/12/2020 Second playthrough and I am now beginning to understand that this game has some "NOT OPEN WORLD" mission features, where you cannot make changes to the outcome of the story. So I want to say Exploration is OPEN World, but the Story line .. is NOT open world. Update: 10/19/2020 So I am on my third playthrough because I messed up on 2nd playthrough so I restarted. a new game. I am finding a lot of bugs and glitches such as movement and clicking items, Missions for item request and NPC not accepting the item. I learned that if you leave the area and come back, they will have the reward for giving them the item. WEIRD.

Amazing!!!!
If you haven’t played this, you need to!! Only been playing for 2 weeks but already one of my top games ever. I love how it has an equal part story and combat and an INCREDIBLE open world!! There is so many things you can do and you can have two completely different gameplays just by playing twice.

This game was a surprise. I had played the first rendition years ago and was not moved. This is a slow burn rootin tootin cowboy adventure.

Where to start with Red Dead Redemption 2, this beautiful masterpiece? The rolling hills. Sumptuous scenery. Watching as the sky turns to night, meaning you, Arthur Morgan, get to wander around the campsite as you watch the flames from the fire flicker, and laugh as your campmates sing campfire songs - you may get approached by the odd person, while you refresh your cores with a bowl of stew. Perhaps you fancy trimming your beard, or a game of five-finger fillet with Lenny, before morning breaks, and you head off on your trusty steed for another adventure? In short, this game is epic. A masterpiece. In a year of lockdown, I have been looking for the ultimate escape - and this journey across 1899 America and the end of the Wild West era is everything I had hoped for and more. The scenery as you gallop across acres of land is truly breath-taking. Just stop and admire the view. Give your horse a pat. My most recent mission involved me breaking a person out of jail. I'd just shot the local shopkeeper, which seemed a daft decision, when the law started hunting me down. But after the entire town descended on us, and we became wanted, dead or alive - we basically had to pepper bullets into everyone, and ride hell for leather to freedom. This made my earlier murder seem trivial by comparison. And I've been trying to be a good soul, honestly, the body count doesn't bear thinking about. I'm only 20 or so percent into the story so far, but I will remember this game for ever. Another mission involved me dragging a mate into a bar in town - the end of the night resulted in fisticuffs, and my character drunkenly stumbling up stairs, as I lost him in the bar. I saw everything in first person, as he crashed into everything, confusing every other person in sight. As I mentioned before, I shot a shopkeeper, only because my controller gave me that as the only option - generally I have found helping people to be more fun i.e. with medical aid. Perhaps I shouldn't have shot him! Perhaps you could go crazy, and kill everyone in sight. I've still managed to get a bounty on my head as it is; sometimes it's just too tempting to loot the odd random stranger. But this game feels like an epic novel - each delve into my gaming session is another chapter - what awaits me at my next turn. (Ironically, it would help if I stopped pressing the wrong button and opening up my journal every flaming second). Failing that, if you don't fancy getting on your horse, sit by the fire and cook some deer before settling down for the night under the stars. A truly, incredible, immersive experience. I never want Red Dead Redemption 2 to end. I need a few days breather after each mission. Arthur Morgan has become my link to Wild West America and I look forward to each and every outing. Just need a sit down by my bed for a bit, watching the night sky...

Thr best game ever created for PS4. Rockstar games rocks. Beautiful plot, fantastic graphics and immersive game. Game is also very long. You will enjoy maximum. Brilliant. GTA5 looks amateur compared to this. This game has Has 2 CDs.
