Very useful product
I have been using it for a week now and has been very useful. My TV had only 2 HDMI outputs and no remote with input changing switch. With this I can actually switch from one input to other from remote and I have 3 HDMI with this which lets me add my chromecast, laptop and my tablet.Pros:You can have 3 HDMI from onesmall remote easy to useQuick switch between HDMIsCons:Need powers supply so make sure you have additional outlets near the device.Haven't really tested all the function and the audio output from SPDIF but will keep updating after I do.

Very nice product! Conveniently simple
I really like the product, it does very well in connecting my old analog parts to my new products. It is convenient and the remote control is very simple and easy to use. Picture quality is great! The sound comes through well from my analog tower speakers. The only issue I have is my, sometimes my picture will cut in and out, which could be an HDMI issue.

Exactly what I needed
I'm combining three things: 1) Roku box; 2) Old international DVD player; 3) Laptop. It was important to me that there was an RCA audio out in whatever HDMI splitter I used and this one fit the bill perfectly. It's well built with easy configurations and worked great out of the box. Highly Recommended.I haven't really used the remote control since I have to turn on each device manually anyway, the remote just isn't useful/necessary for me. But I did test it and it worked as intended.

5.1 Surround Sound Not Working Properly
The left front is playing out of the left surround at the same time. The left surround works properly when it is only the left surround. I tried two different input sources and two different sound bars with the same result. I tried three different Dolby 5.1 surround tests from Youtube. The annoying part is while watching a movie you hear the voices out of the left surround speaker. I have checked and rechecked connections. You cannot miswire the soundbars and they work properly on another system. This is my second purchase I did not notice this issue with the first box. I sold that home with the home theater include with the house.

cheap and works with some annoying work around.
the product works, i got a return item that looks brand new. i have 3 hdmi device into this box and one hdmi out that is converted to dvi on a projector, im glad this one works because alot of them will not work to a dvi conversion. The problem with this is that each time your device is turn on the auto sound doesnt work correctly. you will have to press auto, 2ch, or 5.1, again to get the sound to work, kind of annoying.

Easy set up. But a few quirks.
Set up was easy. I needed this device since my A/V preamp has no HDMI inputs and optical audio out connections on devices like Roku and the Nvidia Sheild are no longer available. I have a Panamax power management device that turns on the HDMI switcher along with the Nvidia Sheild when I power on the stereo system. I quickly realized that the switcher defaults to port two if it has been turned off, instead of returning to last used setting. Another quirk is that the left and right power meters of one of my McIntosh power amps do not always work properly with this device. Sound may be heard but the dB meter on the right channel remains still. That seems to be an intermittent problem. Finally my Oppo Blu Ray player does not play nicely with other components connected to this device. Even if not switched to the Blu Ray connection, if the Oppo is turned on it turns the other components' video signals green.

An excellent HDMI audio extractor!
I used the device on a 2 channel stereo system, The HDMI Inputs used were a Roku Box, Chromecast and a PS3, output was one HDMI to TV and audio was analog out to the receiver.Setup was simple and straight forward, no issues there. It is very solid and well built, I always have it powered on and has worked well so far. There is nothing obvious to notice in regards to picture quality that I can see. Audio pass through works fine with no drops in quality or connection.Auto switching between connected devices seemed flaky(not switching between inputs) on only one occasion, but beyond that one time it’s worked fine, a quick restart of the box seemed to take care of the issue (I've only had to restart the box once in the time I’ve used it). The supplied remote works just fine even when auto switching failed .Overall, I am happy with the unit and highly recommend it based on the unit price. I will happily continue using it.

Great way to split off surround sound to a receiver
I bought this after my cheapo one died that I ordered off a knock-off site. This one is amazing. My tv will take in HDMI inputs but will not strip off the optical sound for my stereo no matter what I tried. This allows me to split off the 5.1 surround sound to my stereo off all three inputs. Works great and is simple, doesn't get hot and is silent. Works perfect and well worth the money if you are looking for a simple way to get 5.1 sound to a receiver when you have a poorly operating television.

Bring Life to Your Favourite Old Receiver
Arrived well packaged (please see provided pics). Small, but has a solidly built feel to it and a surprising bit of weight for its size. Buttons on the unit have a definite and loud click to them when pressed. It’s size makes it easy to be non intrusive in your set up.The remote, well... is a remote. No real “design” to it, just plain, but functional. It’s REALLY small, I’m still undecided if that’s good or bad. If you’re planning on keeping and using it as part of your system, you might want a remote caddy or somewhere to put it where you know where it is. With its small size, it would be pretty easy to lose between the cushions of any seat. For my system, I incorporated the remote functions into my Harmony One universal remote, so it’s going to end up in a “Remote Backup” drawer. The power plug is not as pictured in the instructions (please see provided pic) and sticks out about 1 ½”. Would have preferred it being a flatter design as pictured in the directions, but not a deal breaker.I have noticed no degradation in picture or sound quality while using the switcher. However...PLEASE TAKE NOTE: This unit will only translate “up to 5.1 sound”. Not 7.1, DTS or anything higher than Dolby Digital 5.1. To the manufacturer’s credit, it does note this right on the box (please see provided pic). I have a Cable Box and a Roku plugged into the switcher with an optical cable from the switcher to my older Onkyo receiver. The Cable Box had no issues, all channels worked perfect with pictures and sound. Switched to the Roku. I had picture and sound when highlighting the show thumbnails, but once playing the actual show, there was a “click” heard over the speakers of my system and then no more sound. Just the picture. Read a few reviews and another person had pointed out, this unit only plays sound for certain signals. I saw the note on the box, then went into my Roku Settings menu, selected Audio, selected the Audio Mode to Auto (DD), and the HDMI Dolby Digital. The sound came back and was 5.1 surround. Sounded great. On a side note: When I had the sound glitch, I read more reviews and saw the seller was diligently offering to help buyers via email if they had any issues. I emailed them on December 10th and have still not heard back as of the date of this review (12/20/2020). As noted above, I read more reviews and, thankfully, found the issue thanks to a person who suggested the sound signal limitation. To summarize: If you have an older Amplifier/Receiver that’s still awesome, can’t but want to utilize HDMI sound, and are okay with the limitation of a Dolby Digital 5.1 sound signal, this unit is a great switcher to give it new life. 4 out of 5 and Recommended. One star docked for lack of support.

No sound cuts while using the audio extractor. Nice little machine.
Tried many of those audio extractors and this is the first one that works perfectly for me. Many of them are producing sound cuts but not this one. It also auto selects the input when there is only one active which is very nice. I strongly recommend to buy this one even if it's a bit pricier. Totally worth it.

Works As promised Instructions not great though
Only have 1 HDMI on the TV I am using and wanted a sound bar... Digitial out works way better than Casting (audio sync slightly off with Casting). While pretty straight forward, it could use better instructions so you know which buttons are required for Opitc Audio out (ie, digital vs stereo) or have an Auto select feature. Works great though!

This unit can only extract very limited audio signals
Buyer beware: this unit can only extract the full audio from a very few specific HDMI audio formats. If your source cannot provide the "right" audio stream, you will only get stereo sound, if any. My PS4 could not be set for the specific audio output. (There are at least two different models of PS4, some of which cannot be set as required. The vendor does not seem to know this.)The buttons on the front will often change more than one setting, making them very confusing to use. I saw a comment online that the unit could take up to 10 seconds to respond to setting changes, which seemed to be the case, making troubleshooting a painful process. There were times I hit a button, and three things changed, and it took a lot of button-pushing to get back to where I was.I'll find something else to split the HDMI signal from my PS4 to my TV and sound system. It's a shame the unit doesn't work, as it seems very solidly built.
