No crazy eyes, just LOTS of words to learn.
WOW! What an awesome book. Items are separated by category (like trees or under the sea) and these are listed in the table of contents. There is also an index that allows you to look up specific items (like the rainbow stag beetle or bumblebee poison dart frog). I think kids from pre-school through grade school could like this book. Even though the names are too advanced for my 2 year old - right now he just wants to point at everything and learn what things are called. I looked at a lot of options and this was really the best book I could find for that (he already memorized the other ones we had). SO, I am ok if at age 2 he calls a tit a bird OR a banded snail just a snail OR cypress a Christmas tree. At age 2, I will just be happy if he likes the book and spurs him to learning even more words.BTW - this book does not have any crazy eyes like other Usbourne 1000 Things books - which is a GREAT improvement. I passed up on other titles because I did not like those strange eyes on every animal (but then gave in and bought them because they are very educational).

Great book!
We all love the many many pictures this book holds. It’s nice to have a book that my little ones can just look at lots of pictures.

Granddaughter loved it!
My 5 yr. old granddaughter loves the book. She is quite a little nature hound and recognized a lot of things in the book. I think this book will not outgrow her soon.

Great for learning!
My toddler (18 months) absolutely LOVES this book, she always has to bring it with us whenever we leave the house. There’s so many different types of animals, eggs, plants, bugs, etc. if you’re toddler loves nature they will love this book!
