The most instructive and useful book on this topic I've ever read. The checklists, in particular, are excellent. Bought two copies... one for myself and another for a client.

I have been doing this type of work for 4 years now...Kim, your consulting on the inside book has become a real page turner...so much of what I have read so far is like déjà vu for my first two months in a new role consulting/coaching leaders for an 8 billion dollar project...thank you and Beverly as well for sharing ... I now have a holistic playbook that is pragmatic and keeps me focus and helps me keep others focused on this things that create value ... Its required reading for my online EHRD class but the Kindle version is so convenient. I didn't have to wait in line or go to a busy school store or wait for it to be stocked, so I ordered it on the day class first started and had it instantaneously. I love the kindle school books! apparently, I am not the only one who has the Kindle version. Other classmates refer to it as well when they cite something in the book.

Very practical Makes great and easy reading

For any internal consultant, this book is a must have. There are guidelines and stories to help with almost every situation. As a former internal consultant, I used this book to help me in quirky situations and as a guide for best behavior.

This is a great hands-on practical guide from consultants who have "been there, done that" a thousand times. The chapters are well-organized and full of the kind of wisdom we need more of in government as well as private business. As a former state mental health commissioner and current CEO of a governmental non-profit managed care organization, I recommend Consulting on the Inside with great enthusiasm.
