Q: Does this wax have a strong smell? I bought Johnson Paste Wax and the smell about killed me. Looking for a non-smelly floor wax - ideas welcomed.

I have an old can which I used to use and open windows, I am much more sensitive to fragrances now. I tried to open my can and I started coughing even before I got it open a crack. Threw it away. There are articles of making your own past wax with beeswax, I am going to try to make a little and see how that goes, the oil they were using I am now react to, I have CMS and react to tiny amounts of chemicals. I will try a few and see what I get. Good luck

Q: Is this wax only for furniture or is it soft enough to easily spread onto hardwood floors?

It is pretty soft. Also, it softens up a great deal as it warms up (as you are applying it). So as you start to work it it gets even softer. I have used it as a final coating on large paintings. I think that it would work for wood as well. It just depends on how much wood you have to wax and how you plan to spread it.

Q: Has anyone waxed a brick floor with this after sealing the brick?

I haven't waxed brick but I have waxed low-fired terra cotta ceramic sculptures. They are similar to brick in porosity. I got the sheen I was looking for but beware that slightly opaque buildup can occur in cracks and crevices. Several coats are necessary and, depending on your square footage, you could go through quite a bit of wax.

Q: Is there any silicone in this product?

There is no silicone in this product. I don't have the can in front of me but I remember specifically purchasing it to lubricate the feeds on my jointer and planer because it didn't have silicone which is known to cause problems when finishing the wood.
