It works very well. What a dimmer switch should be. Smooth dimming, no click dial- get the exact brightness you want.

This dimmer works great was intuitive to use – so you don’t need any instructions and the connectivity is 100% reliable. It’s small and doesn’t make any heat after a 4 to 6 hour period. I don’t know if that maintains the same as I’m using it for my small Christmas tree I plan to use it on another light fixture after I take the tree down. Depending on how it works for a lamp, I may purchase more.

I bought this dimmer for my porch string lights. I looked at the fancier ones with lots of buttons, wifi and remotes. Do I really need any of that? And yet another remote?! This unit was very reasonable priced and does exactly what I want. Yes, I have to manually move the slider but it’s no harder than turning on a light switch. So if you like me and just wanted to be able to dim or brighten my lights, don’t want a bunch of confusing stuff you don’t need and only pay a fraction of the others - then this is for you. The one star removal was just because it didn’t surprise me on the upside and I save my 5 stars for that.

Works well as table side dimmer switch for lamp with LED bulb. Can feel the off position when sliding but wish it had on/off signal light.

Solved my problem! My new LED Christmas tree lights were so bright I could barely look at them - this solved that perfectly. I can dim them to a level that is just right, day or night.

This product does not work with a standard LED lightbulb. You have to have a regular lightbulb or a dimmable LED lightbulb. This isn’t really a flaw, just something you should be aware of. Once I changed out my lightbulb, this works well and I do enjoy being able to dim my light on my nightstand, so I don’t keep my husband up. It was easy to install. Basically you just plugged the lamp into this cord and use the sliding dimmer to work the bulb. I can’t turn the light off completely using the dimmer, so I still have to reach up and turn the light off manually when I want it off completely. One other thing that really bothers me is that this is a hard plastic dimmer box so it slides around on my nightstand. It seems like functionally, They should’ve put some rubber feet on the back to keep it from sliding around. It is a reasonable option to easily add dimmer capability to a standard lamp.
