Lifetime Shatter Proof Backboard Rim Combo, 48-Inch, Mounting Bracket Sold Separately

item matched the description well. i was replacing a backboard that was 40 years old on a square pole. I new it was going to take a bit of effort to make it fit my existing pole and arms. i also had to replace some rusted pieces from my existing setup. I am not a great handyman, so it did take a bit of time to figure things out and then backtrack when i realized things were not lined up or needed to be modified. I am very pleased with the unit and its quality. I am average size and found the backboard a bit heavy and awkward for one person. Though i managed, i would highly recommend 2 people to install. Great product for the money.

Excellent replacement backboard and hoop. Replaced an original 44 inch backboard with this 48 inch wide backboard with almost no problems. The only issue that makes you curse though is trying to get the bar to connect with the very thin clip rings on either end. You need to pull the plastic cover over the rings in order to get them to connect.

This backboard even makes our house look better. The quality was great and pairing it with the mounting kit was perfect. I would highly recommend this combo kit for anyone that’s want a really nice looking basketball setup. I did not try any of the other mounting configurations, but the roof mount was easy and says it supports wall and pole mount in addition to my roof installation.

Funny had a Spaulding basketball system inground really nice. Backboard Lexan cracked and broke, year 4.5 of 5 on the warranty and told not covered, pay $254 again. In my mind never again with Spaulding. Replaced with this Lifetime option, looks nice and is better overall quality. BUT when arrived big letters on the box, mounting kit not included. Now I agree mounting kids vary and can be costly for sure. but all I needed was the Y looking bracket, 2 stamped pieces of Sheetmetal, should have been included. That Sheetmetal mounts to the backboard, not included and you have to buy the bigger kits about $109.00 adder. Lucky for me I saved the old mounting pole parts (4 plus years old) and those two Sheetmetal pieces was there. I drilled/elongated 2 holes and bam, in business, hung and operational. A bit of a scam, they all play games on the ability to mount their products.

BUYER BEWARE - The rim and backboard CANNOT be assembled as shown in the advertised images, unless you purchase one of the two mounting kits sold by Lifetime (for an additional $60-$110!!!) When I purchased this rim/backboard I planned on simply attaching the assembled rim and backboard directly to a flat vertical wall, which WOULD NOT require a mounting kit. As I started to assemble the rim and backboard I quickly realized there is no structure within the backboard to support the rim. There is only a thin vertical sheet metal plate that does not connect to the structure of the backboard with the hardware provided and will not support the rim much less a ball hitting it, see the close up photo. That makes this rim/backboard useless without a mounting kit! ATTENTION LIFETIME ENGINEERING - The two simple sheet metal brackets you provide in the “universal mounting kits”, that attach to the rim hardware then up and outward to the backboard structure, should be included with this kit! Feels like just a cheap trick to force your customer into another purchase.

Great hoop for the price. Each set up is individualized so that may affect your set up experience. For me adding it to my garage was a simple set up process after buying the adjustable part. I have been able to dunk and hang on it.

I mounted this to my brick garage using the Lifetime 1044 Quick Adjust Basketball Backboard Conversion Kit. Its holding up well, its even, the kids like it, I like it, and it wasn't difficult to install. A little time consuming to get it just right and its best to use at least 2 people to get it up there (not heavy, just awkward) but not difficult. I highly recommend it.

For the price this is great. Doesn’t look as solid as it is . My son and I love it.

I bought this along with the lifetime universal mounting kit , and found it somewhat confusing to put the backboard together until I read the instructions fully through from both the mounting kit and backboard assembly only to realize that both have similar parts for the same assembly.

Really happy with this basketball board!! Sturdy and works great! Highly recommend!!!
