A nice, simple illustrated set of lessons. It would be good for teaching scouts or youth groups.

This is a great tutorial for anyone interested in making and playing this delightful instrument. Material is inexpensive . Very basic tools required and skill level well within most anyone's reach.

Heartfelt endeavor and useful flute making information here. Can tell Nicholas really had a love and passion for sharing passed-on culture. Will be using his design for school project. Editorial and spelling errors on pgs 38 and 64 don't deter from overall use. Good dimensioning illustrations. His video is also good.

Easy to follow and makes it easy to get the kids into music...check out his bow making books as well....this guy is the pioneer of PVC.

Nick Tomihama,really knows of ways to use PVC from Archery to music flutes,so this book is the way to make flutes or whistles,I have many of his books and they all show from A to Z so that you to can make what the book shows

So why should you purchase this book? Anyone can drill holes in a PVC pipe, however Nicholas spends the time to show you how to do it right. He really gets into the finer details. The sizes of the holes and distance matter as well as how you finish them. He takes the time to show you all of the steps required to make several different types of Spirit Flutes.

As usual Nic delivers the goods. Appreciate his creativity and the ude of materials for purposes other than those originally intented

The book shows you how to cut and drill PVC but does not provide details on how finger hole positions were derived. It does not mention what key the flutes were designed for. There is no mention on how to tune individual notes. Without this information a playable flute will not result. The book is a waste of money, there is more detailed information on the internet and it's free.
