Vegetable and Fruit Chopper with 2 Cup Base, Stainless Steel Blades, Dishwasher Safe

This is a very useful kitchen tool. The product is as represented. No significant assembly is required. Just put the lid in place and chop away. We use it to chop, onions bell peppers, and most any other food items that lends itself to chopper use. The chopper comes with two size blades to permit small or larger square cuts, and includes a fork-like tool for cleaning food particles from the chopper blades. The blades are metal and sharp. Other than the metal blades, the tool parts are made of heavy plastic. The Chop Wizard is easy to clean after use. There are three main components: a lid, blades, and collection bin. We have used a tool of this kind for years. The Vidalia Chop Wizard is the best we have found.

Best chopper I have ever used it has stability so it doesnt slide around at all while using its extremely easy to use as well and small enough to fit in small spaces I chopped a onion up in less than a minute definitly recommend this chopper

I have been purchasing these choppers since they first came out about 10 years ago. I loved mine so much that I always keep a backup, in case of breakage. AND, I have chosen to give these as newlywed wedding gifts and gifts to others, whom I know do not have one. Invariably, the appreciative praise is off the charts with everyone that I have given to. Typical response is, "OMG...I didn't realize how much I needed this until I started using it. Best and most practical gift of anything else I received." Besides being on Amazon, you can also find them at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. WalMart used to carry them, but not anymore. When chopping onions, the only tears I might have would be those shed, if someone takes this chopper away from me. If there was one kitchen tool that I would absolutely refuse to give up, it would be this. You can have everything else in my kitchen, but since onions are the most common and crucial ingredient for cooking in every genre of dish, I consider this indispensible. I hate chopping with a knife, along with all the tears, and would be deeply saddened if I could no longer have one of these. You simply cut the two ends of the onion off, then slice in half from end to end, to more easily remove the outer dry skin. Then quarter the onion and lay each quarter, one at a time "wedge cut" tip down and slightly pressed into the blades to start. Then close the lid to rest against the outer rounded part of the onion which is facing up. And with the heel of your hand, press down firmly with a brisk motion and the onion wedge is quickly pushed through and cut into perfect dice. Some of these choppers have two blade inserts (fine dice and large dice). Make sure you get one that has both sizes, since you will use them both. I can completely dice a large onion in less than 10 seconds (once the onion has been skinned and cut into 4 quarters. The clear bottom container has measuring cup markings on the side so you can see whether you have the right amount, according to any recipes. And you just keep the lid closed on the chopper and tip it up and tap the flat edge on the counter to cause the diced onions inside to settle, in order to see where they are on the measurement markers. And you also keep the lid closed while doing other prep work, so you don't release onion vapors into the air (that cause tears).

I believe I purchased my first Vidalia Chop Wizard in the 1990's. Last week a piece of plastic finally broke off. I was in a panic. Fortunately, I found a new one on Amazon. This is one thing I use for cooking that I just can't be without. Slicing onions or any other veggies and fruits is a breeze with the Vidalia Chop Wizard. Cleaning is easy too. I just put it on the top rack of my dishwasher. A must have for any cook!

This works really well for quick, even chopping. The stainless steel blades are sharp, it makes meal prep faster and keeps things neat. Cleaning takes a little extra time, especially around the blades, but overall it’s a solid and convenient kitchen tool.

It doesn't look like much, but this is a great product. I wouldn't say I'm lazy in the kitchen, but chopping vegetables is definitely not my favorite kitchen task. I figured I'd role the dice on a twenty dollar purchase to save some time in the kitchen. I have been pleasantly surprised with the quality and performance of this product. I am almost shocked at how well, even after months of daily use, it cuts tomatoes. Most of these things mash up tomatoes into some form of very bland salsa. Not this. With roma tomatoes I slice them in half and then run them through the chopper. Perfect for salads, tacos, and one very picky toddler who only seems to like tomatoes. I also use this tool for chopping onions, potatoes and carrots. They do not seem to dull the blades. I cube the potatoes by running them through the chopper twice. You can also slice depth then run it through the chopper, but I like my pretty little potato cubes. I think onions are where this product really shines. No tears with this product. You do have to give it a pretty hefty slam for a clean cut. This product seems to take a licking. It's very tough- I'm sure it'll break at some point, but it's worth it to buy one of these every 6-12 months. There are 2 non-fatal flaws with this product. It's kind of ugly. It looks weaker than it is. I don't really care about that. I use it and then it immediately goes in the dishwasher. The other problem is that it can take a minute to clean. I like the little cleaning tool. it saves a lot of time. There are just many nooks and crannies to scrub out. I also don't recommend this product for cutting cheese. It's too mushy and sticky- doesn't survive the slam very well.

This saves me a lot of time when making diced onions. It works great !

The box container below the chopper cracked while chopping a simple small onion. This is not acceptable. However upon contacting the seller, they immediately despatched a new replacement container and the product is delivering good performance with chopping.

Excellent chopper, super fast and very sharp, cuts chopping time in half. Something I used to hate doing. Highly recommend, strong and durable, washes easily.
