Review: Awesome pair of headphones! - I watch a lot of movies on my laptop and while it's a HD/blu-ray player, the speakers on it are criminal. I have had on the ear headphones which I hate, I've had ear buds which never fit my ears right and are painful, and the kind of earbuds that go into the canal which was what I used most, but they were painful after awhile and caused a sort of vacuum when swallowing or eating. I decided I needed a good pair over the ear headphones. I searched around desertcart, almost buying a pair of sony, but one review mentioned these. I decided on the Sennheiser HD201 Lightweight Over-Ear Binaural Headphones and received them today. First off, wow...the comfort level is amazing. They fit perfectly around the ears and the padding is plentiful. The cord is very long, which is nice the slit area is plenty big (if you've ever had a pair of headphones where the double wires meet too close to your head, you'll appreciate that!). I plugged them in and fired up a movie...I feel like I'm in a theater! The quality of the sounds are phenominal. A nice blend of bass, but not too deep that it makes your ears vibrate. It gave my movie a surround sound feeling with the crispness. I'm no expert or professional, I'm not listening to music with bass so heavy that I want to feel my headphones vibrating, I'm just a casual user and I can say these are perfect for me. They don't cancel noise, but are pretty padded (I was so impressed that I have paused my movie to write this, they are still on and I can hear the keys as I am typing). But for the price, they are amazing. I have small kids who seem to find everything so I didn't want expensive headphones that I might have a breakdown if they managed to destroy them, but I will be hiding them because they are really fantastic. I can see myself ordering a second set soon as a back up and so I can share my movie with someone since there are 2 headphones jacks on my laptop. So, if you need a pair of solid, comfortable headphones that will give you really supurb sound at a steal of a price, I'd highly recommend them!
Review: Excellent for the money. - These are excellent headphones for the price as far as sound quality goes. I usually like to use my old JVC marshmallows with the foam ear squishies, but I listen to audiobooks, podcasts and music for an average of 8 hours a day 5 days a week and some on weekends. No matter how awesome the in-ear buds are, my ears get tired of them. This is a great way to give my ears a rest. They deliver excellent music sound, very balanced, good base, pretty crisp treble without being shrill. I am sensitive to the higher pitches, so these are very good for me. They are plenty loud for me but my hearing is pretty acute, I don't need much volume. I am listening to my iPhone now on half volume and it is loud but not painful. (Of course, encoding has a lot to do with digital volume too.) As for podcasts and audio books, it's not as crisp as my ear buds. I think these are designed for music, which is more base heavy than the human voice should be. It still sounds quite good, but the softer treble softened the sounds of voices a bit more. They definitely offer a wider range of sound and pitch. They deliver deeper, throatier base than any earbuds I have ever heard and just a better depth of sound. The cord is hella long, which is fantastic for those of us still rocking a desk top. I have listened to better headphones but they were all in the $100 range. For $23 and change, these are a deal and a half. I am going to use them mostly for music on my PC, my hand held consoles, movies on my iPad and Fallout 4. My earbuds are better for my iPhone since I listen almost exclusively to spoken word on that.

**Q: How is the volume on this? I have a hearing problem and sounds are usually too low for me to enjoy.**
A: You want to look at dB SPL output...I saw a spec sheet saying that these produce 108 dB SPL compared to the next model up which produces 115 which would be dangerous as 112 dB SPL is the level at which permanent hearing damage occurs. 108 dB SPL (sound pressure level, or how we hear volume) should be enough as it is 5 times the SPL of ambient room noise. (every increase of 6 dB doubles the intensity) Electronic specs really have to do with matching the amplifier to the speaker (in this case the small ones in the headphones) hope this helps some. btw I am not Kevin I'm using his login now.

**Q: I bought these to plug into the headphone jack on my laptop. The plug looks way too big. Is there an adapter I can buy or should I return the headphones?**
A: Are you sure you can't twist it off? A while back I bought a pair of Sony headphones that had a 1/4 inch jack and you could just twist or pull out the converter to reveal a 3.5mm. I use headphones for guitar practice so I keep the 1/4 inch on.

I have had on the ear headphones which I hate, I've had ear buds which never fit my ears right and are painful, and the kind of earbuds that go into the canal which was what I used most, but they were painful after awhile and caused a sort of vacuum when swallowing or eating. I decided on the Sennheiser HD201 Lightweight Over-Ear Binaural Headphones and received them today. First off, wow...the comfort level is amazing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sennheiser HD201 Headphones - Good Quality, Better Price

I recently bought a pair of Sennheiser HD201 headphones when Amazon put them on sale for $15. I had been shopping around for quite some time, looking for a nice pair of over-the-ear headphones with good sound quality that wouldn't break the bank too much. I like to consider myself a bit of an audiophile and the headphones I have been using in the past just aren't up to snuff anymore; I needed something better to deliver the quality of sound that I wanted to hear. I've found that one of the hardest things when shopping for headphones online is the inability to actually hear the phones in order to determine if you like their sound, comfort, etc. Going off of so many other reviews and other people looking for certain things, it made the shopping a bit of a dilemma at times. Finally, I had to decide what I wanted, and if the headphones I bought had what I was looking for. In this case, my criteria was: - Over the ear phones with some amount of noise cancellation - Headphones that work well in a general listening situation and also in producing/composing situations - Strong, balanced, and clear audio quality across multiple genres of music - Comfort - Price that won't break the bank For me, the importance of good quality across multiple music genres was necessary as I listed to a wide variety of music (Rock, Metal, Classic Rock, Jazz, Classical, Dance, Hip-Hop, etc.) and I also dabble a bit in music production and DJing. Most of the reviews for the HD201 said that they were a solid pair that was a good buy. I initially balked at them, but when they went on sale, I bought a pair. The overall comfort for these phones are quite good, with occasional tightness and/or ear soreness if worn for a long time. The cord is really long, almost too long, but some thing I could live with. My impression of the material quality was that it was pretty solid for the pricetag. As for the sound, obviously the most important part, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I worked at my college's student radio station and there we used Sennheiser's HD202 models, which I enjoyed a lot so I knew the kind of quality to expect from Senneheiser. The sound of these phones, for me, was solid. They are quite balanced across all frequencies, provide clear highs and deep lows when the situation calls for it. There are times where I wished the bass frequencies were a tad bit stronger, but in general I'm okay with it. I personally think that if the low frequencies were too high it would muddle up the sound but these find a pretty good balance. If you're looking for headphones with booming bass, you're better off elsewhere. I initially tested them with a few genres, and all of them sounded quite good. All in all, my experience with these headphones have been positive. Knowing the price, I wasn't expecting the highest of high quality, but knowing what Sennheiser is capable of, these headphones are a good buy. I'll actually be ordering another pair, as I slipped and fell on my way to work this morning and broke them, perhaps another testament to their value for the price.
