The flanges are thick and good steel, so you can weld pipe to it or clamp, or both. It's LOUD, but it's also a great sounding sort of lower frequency noise and doesn't get an irritating pitch at speed. Great value. I installed this in place of the muffler on my 99' Ram 1500 with a 5.9.
