Must Have Book For Any Level Player
This book is an absolute gem of a book. I have no theory background, but I am intermediate in my songwriting. And this is helping a lot in understanding theory and understanding what I’m playing. I kind of got stuck in a box of playing the same similar chords and patterns. This will open up your creativity and you will learn new chords and progressions. Even if you aren’t a songwriter, this is a fundamental book of playing and just learning chords. A few of the progressions I have recognized in popular old songs. It’s definitely a must buy for any level player. I skimmed through when I first got it and touched on a few pages. I plan to go one page at a time and spend a day or two on each page. I think that’s the best approach. Some open chords I have never played before so this helps a whole lot.Get this book.

Great resource to help guitarist explore the Nashville number system
Great resource to help guitarist explore the Nashville number system. Definitely recommend. Buyer beware, if you are already familiar with key signatures and guitar cords this might not be the book for you. Otherwise, great teaching tool.

Wonderful tool for songwriting.
The media could not be loaded. Love this book. One of the more useful songwriting tools for someone just starting out. This book has lots of common chord progressions laid out in a clear and concise manner that is easy to read and digest. The chord diagrams allow a beginner with no knowledge in reading music to know which chords are played in what order within that progression and build upon that. Those with more knowledge have the actual music there as well. This is a great way to go outside of your comfort zone and explore other genres and sounds. They also provide color chords for certain progressions that can provide a little flair to some of the same old combinations. I recommend this book to anyone interested in getting into songwriting on guitar. If you put the work in, you won't regret it. Keep learning, and keep practicing!

For the amateur noodlers
Wallach has given us a straight forward text to help the beginning and average guitar players who want nothing more than to noodle about with the right set of chords. Sure, I can navigate a circle of fifths as well as anyone else, but sometimes it is nice to flip open a book and see the grouping of chords without thinking it over too much. I recommend this one for beginners and skilled strummers alike.

Amazon does a poor job shipping books!
The book is great but like other books I get from Amazon, it arrived with damages to pages, corners, etc. I am keeping this one but have returned some in the past for an exchange.
