This is so useful. I mainly use it for checking the moisture level and soil and it goes into a depth equal to any food plant I grow. It's quick, it's easy, it saves me having to dig down two four or six inches to manually take a look at and feel the soil. I will on rare occasions use it to check the pH and if so nice to be able to do something this quick rather than have to do a soil test myself but would take a samples and letting it dry and then running the test. I can do this in seconds. I can't attest to the accuracy of the pH cuz I haven't compared it but it seems like a good instrument. The Sunshine part I haven't used very much at all so I can't say much about it. I very much like the this requires no batteries because it works off of bimetals. The only negative I've had is the dial while being nice and compact as also relatively tough to read for my older eyes. But I've pretty much memorized the range that I expect to see for needs water, doesn't need water and oh my God it's soaked. A really good product and I'm very happy with the price. I'm looking for some sort of case to protect it although right now I'm using the box that came in. Too long probes a pretty strong but I would feel better if when I put it in with my other gardening tools it was in a case. I'd pay more if it came with a case.

These meters works exceptionally well and help us to determine when certain garden crops are actually in need of watering. The pH meter helped me understand our garden pH (6) and showed me where I needed to amend with bone meal for those plants that like a pH of 7. Good value for money.

Easy to use, results were in line with what I expected. Strips were just too complicated. And results are subjective and if you are colorblind, forget it. Dial was easy to read and I saw movement on both, so operating. Really like that you get separate meters. You don’t really need to constantly check ph. , moisture on the other hand… That’s also helpful because moisture levels should be in range when you do check ph. And a bargain to boot 🥰

Needed a new moisture meter - saw this & figured to get a ph meter for a little more.Moisture meter seemed to work okUPDATE - at 6 weeks, the moisture meter quit working. inspection showed one of the VERY thin wires inside had detached at the solder joint. Got it resoldered & working, but definitely not worth buying either of these probesPH meter is junk. Reads 7 just sitting there. Testing alkaline soil where hydrangea treated for red color (~7.0ph) meter reads 7.0. Testing acidic soil in bed with same hydrangea species giving very blue color blooms (4.05-5.0ph) meter still reads 7.0. Testing in liquid ammonia cleaner gave 5.5ph-acidic ?? Trying with vinager gave ~5.5ph - same as ammonia cleaner.As a meter sold for testing ph in moist soil, it does not work - even in very acidic or base liquids, it gives conflicting results.Save some mony and buy just a moisture meter for less than this 2-pack

I received the item in good shape, it appeared to be well made. Unfortunately when I read the instructions on the box it stated that the meter could be off by 1-2 levels in the PH reading results. That's not acceptable when needing to make adjustments to the soil and trying to determine how much you need to amend the soil. I rated this a three because the information on Amazon does not tell you this. I researched if these types of units are accurate, and did not find the disclosure until I received the box. I consider this a waste of my time in buying the unit. I can not imagine a scenario where someone needs to know the Ph of their soil, and being off by 1 or 2 levels is acceptable.

Got these to help my mom not kill her plants and diagnose why they are not flourishing. Makes it super easy to know what your plants do and don’t need. These despite seeming cheap have held up very well, easy to clean off and haven’t had any sort of corrosion or rust issues.
