Tantra Unveiled

This book is very easy to read. It is also very interesting and you'll probably read it in one breath, or rather in a day - without putting the book down.I am delighted that this book was written. It brings to light Tantra which is very different than the kind popularized in the West.The author shares a few stories about the powers developed by genuine tantrik masters. Not that one has go after any powers - the powers simply unfold even spontaneously in an individual who is practicing "merging" or rather "at-one-ment" with the Infinite, whatever form It may take.Few practices are mentioned and what is mentioned is more for the purpose of giving the reader a taste of it, rather than as a means of complete practice. On the other hand, even though methods, techniques and rituals in their fullness are not disclosed and the authors states that they are transmitted directly from teacher to student - those who are familiar even with Western esoteric tradition, with cultivation of Sexual Energy from Taoist tradition, and have been practicing meditation for the purpose of experiencing Oneness with the Infinite - will find similarities.The author appropriately mentions that nothing gets an individual so interested to explore further than having an actual experience of "power". I fully agree - but the example which is offered in this book as something that is supposed to provide the reader with the "speedy" experience of power (as a remedy for calming phobia, nightmares or disturbed sleep) takes about 120 days to complete - the first 3 steps of this method are each to be done for 40 days. While repeating Gayatri mantra thousands of times and drawing Om Namah Shivaya has many other benefits - I can think of many other ways of getting rid of phobias, nightmares or disturbed sleep in one day (including self-hypnosis and NLP) as opposite to 120 days. At least among the numerous powers listed to be obtained in the initial practices of tantra - even whether to create a change in oneself of in other, I can also think of many other ways of creating such effects in a day or a couple of days, instead of 120 days. I have been working with Om Namah Shivaya mantra for too long to be a fair judge regarding how much time it takes to become aware of its effectiveness, but come to think of it - at least as far as fears and phobias go, there are numerous people to whom I suggested to use Om Namah Shivaya mantra and all of them have experienced practically instant results.This book, short as it is, does give enough hints to help you to actually experience some effects of using few mantras and it gives few more hints if you want to proceed along this path.

A clear explanation of what is actually involved in the various schools of Tantra. In America we are all free and equal and all the same. Only we aren't! The boys are very different from the girls down to the DNA in their very cells and sex is a kind of energy which most conservatives like to believe will go away if we ignore it. Only it won't go away. It will tear you to pieces if you don't know how to channel it in a constructive way. Tantra is the traditional yogic method of dealing with this life energy. One size does not fit all. Tantra Unveiled explains the different paths and how various schools use them.

This is a MUST READ for those wanting a much better understanding of Tantra. The author does a great job of explaining everything about it, the left hand and right hand paths, where the different schools in India are and what each school offers as well as the differences between them. He also gives a great tantric practice for those that are not initiated in it and for those that are.

Like the other book by this author and his video courses, this discusses the history and principles of Tantra while keeping most of the practices secret. The summary is that Tantra should only be learned through a master. It does include that finding an authentic teacher is very difficult. Chapter 7 covers instruction on yantra, mantra, mudra, and fire pit ceremony. They each have a chapter in the book about the history or mythology around them. There is no teaching of the sexual practices which is refreshing."Cultivating love and respect of the mantra is more important than concentration on the mantra."

Tiganait writes on this subject from his own personal experience and evoked a spiritual vibe from this reader while pondering what he is trying to get across. Tantra, like the rest of the yoga tradition, is a profound subject that can only have the surface scratched in this short book. He describes several practices in some detail, but I got the feeling that I would need to be with an experienced teacher to actually do them with any fidelity. Still, to get a feel for what tantra is all about this book is a useful introduction.

Love reading about Tantra and this is not my first book. It is clear and easy to understand. I am enjoying a lot. I would recommend it to those interested in learning more about this ancient science and philosophy.

As the title says it is unveiled! It does not go into lot of depth, but definitely is a great starter. It gives detailed outline of the initial steps, the complexities, the path to finding adepts and gurus, etc. I liked it a lot.

A book which, in depth clears the fundamentals of tantra. Must have for amy Sadhak who wants to realise his own truth in life
