I've used them when we went on vacation or I was lazy and didn't want to remember to feed the fish for a few days ;) **Q: Can you use these in a small, unfiltered bowl?** A: I used these in a small unfiltered bowl and they grew oddly colored fungus and I am 99% sure my betta is going to die. I fully cleaned the tank as soon as I came back from my 5 day trip and he isn't looking good at all. **Q: how many pellets do the cakes give? i was told to feed my betta with only 3 pellets a day, but i feed him more because he still seems hungry...** A: Each one has seven days worth of food. Not sure how many pellets exactly. The water breaks the cakes down slowly over the seven days to release food for the fish. I am sure the fish could attempt to eat more from it if still hungry. **Q: Are you supposed to be able to see the actual food? The cakes are breaking down but I never see food being released.** A: They instantly sank to the bottom of my tank, and I could see the food pellets. Before and after they were released. But this food poisoned my fish, and he only ate 2 bricks. It took him almost 2 more weeks to slowly die. I will never recommend anyone buying this product, ever. The size is small and effective for putting in the tank. They last about two weeks. Didn't notice and foul odor on the tablets. The tablets are slightly hard, and the fish pecks at the tablet and the food breaks off right away. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked just fine for me *by on Reviewed in the United States September 1, 2023* Due to scary reviews, I tested these two days before actually needing them and they dissolved just fine in (spring/drinking) water. In fact, they were dissolving quickly so I took them out of water to have some left to actually use. I have a 2 gal tank with no filter and was aware of potential ammonia building up quickly so I only used a quarter of a tablet. When I got back after 4 days, the water had some dusting at the top but was ultimately clean and my fish ate the pellets just fine. I recommend testing these before your vacation just to see if they work for you, how long it takes them to dissolve, and whether your fish even likes the pellets inside. ### ⭐ Disgusted in this product....killed our fish *by on Reviewed in the United States July 23, 2023* Our fish was completely healthy no issues. We went on a 3 day trip and put one of these feeder tablets in like it said. Came back home fish was moving around but I did notice a werid light flim on him that looked like the feeder tablet. Day later our fish was dead. So sad... also the feeder tablet barely dissolved and had a film all over it like our fish as you can see in the pictures. We had our fish since Feb its July and it's gone now the kids pet.
