You are literally paying six times the price here verses the supermarket. I love Amazon, I've been a Prime member for at least 4 years, if not longer. I now LOVE this baking powder, but get yourself to a supermarket. I am so embarrassed for paying to have this delivered. When you see it in the supermarket you will smack yourself in the head. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is the key to mile high biscuits that aren't bitter *by K***S on July 5, 2019* Through the years, I loved to bake homemade biscuits and shortcakes. To make these properly, it takes quite a bit of baking powder. The problem I encountered was that they ALWAYS ended up with a bitter aftertaste, no matter how much sugar I added. Come to find out (40 years later), the culprit was my go-to supermarket baking powder. I'd always grab the one that was most available.... usually the most inexpensive one (ok... always the one that was the cheapest). To be fair, I think most people do this and are none the wiser.A few months ago I was looking through different baking blogs. Low and behold, I was fed a small bit of information that lit up that lightbulb above my head. The reason my biscuits had that bitter taste is because of the aluminum in most baking powders. I suffered all these years (in silence), and all I needed was to use a better ingredient (isn't it always that way?). By using this aluminum free product, my baked goods have been 100% better with no bitterness, minus an ingredient that's really not good to ingest. The biscuits have also beenUpon receiving my container of baking powder, I checked the use-by date. The date was well past one year. This is important because if your baking powder isn't fresh, you'll end up with flat, hockey puck type biscuits and other baked goods. Right away, I grabbed my phone and put a reminder on my calendar, about a month before the expiration date, so I'll know to reorder this. I'd hate to be caught off guard, where all my efforts to make a great meal would be spoiled.Lastly, the lid from this baking powder comes in handy. It has just enough room to allow a tablespoon measure.
