The best graphic novels we’ve found!
I bought this book for my 7 and 9 year old boys and they absolutely love it! They are still getting the hang of “leisure reading” and graphic novels are the only books they will just pick up and read on their own. I was a little nervous about sneaking a history book into their graphic novel collection but they picked it right up and have both read it a few times already! My 9 year old couldn’t put it down and my 7 year old needed a little help with some of the words but it still kept him really engaged. They both loved the kids that were narrating the story. I’m so glad I found this series. It is amazing that my kids are reading and learning and it’s so fun for them!

Great series, this was a worthy addition.
Lincoln is a multi-dimensional figure to pack into a small graphic novel, but this book does a decent job at introducing interesting elements of his life to young readers.

Abe Lincoln Defender of the Union
Readers can follow along with Lady Liberty and Uncle Sam as they walk readers through history sharing the story of Abraham Lincoln.Readers who are fans of comics will love going back in time to review the story of Abraham Lincoln and his fight to free slave. From his early childhood until the last moments of his life readers will learn about how he went from becoming an attorney until he became president. Illustrated boxes with speech and thought balloons keep the storyline short and sweet but still provide plenty of story to get the reader engaged in the history of events. Side-bar commentary is shared with images of Lady Liberty along with Uncle Sam, presented in a modern perspective, sharing little known facts for readers to absorb.Readers will love the illustrations that perfectly capture the emotion of the time. Vividly colorful and extremely detailed this graphic novel is a plus for students who aren’t fans of non-fiction. Readers will be able to spend time on each page to take in all of the details for a better understanding of the story. Parents and teachers can use this tool to engage students, teach history, capture the eye of the non-reader and discuss the wonderful man and what he did for this country.

Excellent history book for kids! (And adults!)
My daughter (eight) read this book in just two days. She could not put it down. She gleaned so much about Lincoln who she now boldy proclaims is her favorite president. It is not only educational, but has just enough humor through dialogue and illustrations to keep kids engaged. I cannot say enough about this series, we are excited to read the others! **I was provided a copy in exchange for an honest review**

Love these books!
Such a great way to learn about Abraham Lincoln and the surrounding times! My boys (7 and 8)know about him, but they learned even more. I also love the illustrations and engaging format. My favorite thing was that my kids kept picking it up to look at it and showing me what It said. (I received this book to review)

Some facts are wrong.
I bought this for my 8 year old grandson but thought I should read if first, glad I did. How the authors missed at least two simple facts I'll never know. They state there were over 51,000 killed at the battle of Gettysburg, that's incorrect. There were 7,058 killed at the battle of Gettysburg, there were over 51,000 casualties, that in the total of wounded, missing and killed though later in the book they do state it correctly. Same thing with the battle of Antietam, they state nearly 23,000 were killed. That too is incorrect there were 3,650 killed, there were 23,000 casualties-wounded, missing or killed. I'm not an expert on Lincoln's life but with those simple mistakes makes me wonder what other mistakes or things that may not happen that they have put in this book.
