Review: Best modern N64 controller every made! - Many out there are trying to make modern N64 controllers, but Hyperkin really did it right! I think some may only complain about the feel of buttons and probably complain of the sizing of the L & R buttons next to the 2 Z triggers next to them, but honestly me and my Wife love this controller that we got both the black and the white one, and she hopes they come up with more color variations later such as pink & etc. It's Bluetooth to where it can be used on both PC & N64 with no problem thanks to a wireless adapter that you can plug into your actual N64. Never tried it on Android or anything yet, but so far it performs very well other than sometimes when you play a First-Person Shooter like Quake. GoldenEye, Duke Nukem 64 and others where if you nudge the analog stick to the left slightly you'll slowly drift to the left where you'll have to move it again to stop. Never really came across that issue in Racing games where the analog stick is very important for precise turning though. Other Non-Hyperkin Admiral controllers you come across are gonna likely be wired for only one platform, perform badly, be a pain to pair via Bluetooth, and have parts grinding against each other such as the analog stick grinding against the L button, and even have the D-Pad directly in the middle where it's hard to play with. None of those are an issue with the Hyperkin Admiral
Review: A great controller to beat your kids in Mario Kart! - Such an upgrade over the original N64 controller. As my library of nostalgia builds, it still requires some creature comforts that modern systems have to offer, that I'm unwilling to do without. That being a wireless controller. When it came to N64 I didnt want to lose my memory card save function. So it had to be wireless and have a memory card option. The Admiral was only one of a few that are available. Super happy with the controller feel. Hands felt comfortable in the molded grips. Found button and joystick response times to be unnoticeable from the old corded controller. I ordered the Space Black. I was what I was hopping for, a translucent black. Fits the motif! Bonus features. The memory card slot accepts micro SD cards, eliminating the need for they old grey memory cards. Really like it. Will be being another pair to show the kids how Mario Kart is played. No mercy!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works well
*by W***R on March 6, 2020*

It's not perfect, but as a wireless solution for the N64 it's pretty good. Using BlueTooth is a great bonus, but there are definitely better BlueTooth controllers out there. If you're dead set on having a wireless controller, this is a fine one to use. Pros: It's wireless! I haven't found any other wireless N64 controllers, so this seems to be the only option. It's BlueTooth, so it works with anything and is generally easy to pair. Tried it with my Android phone, no issues. Tried it with my PC, it worked fine after some extra steps. No noticeable input lag. The dongle that plugs into your N64 can also read and write Memory card data for backup and restoration from an SD card (it's a bit clunky, though). I didn't test it but these could probably be used with an emulator on your PC. Cons: It's pretty uncomfortable to hold. It really doesn't fit the hands very well. Windows 10 wanted a PIN code to pair it, and none of the usual ones work (0000, 1234, etc). Instead of pairing it the usual way, you need to add it as a Personal Area Network device (by right-clicking on the BlueTooth icon in the System Tray). The layout is a bit weird and the C-buttons are odd sizes, I sometimes find myself hitting the wrong button. I have to press really hard on the A button to keep it held down, which makes racing games very tiring. There is no rumble support in the controller. You can plug the Rumble Pak into the dongle but it'll just vibrate your console. There is no Transfer Pak support, no matter what. The memory card backups use a specific hardcoded file name on the SD card, so you have to rename files constantly (through a computer) to backup or restore a certain memory card file.
