Nice, but not as good as older Circulon
I was in need of a 3-qt saucepan, and remembering how much I love my mom's Circulon set she bought 15 years ago (still in *excellent* shape!) I picked this one up. It's a good, quality piece of cookware, but seemed of ever so slightly lower quality than hers...hard to put my finger on it, like maybe it's a little thinner and the finish isn't quite as nice.Anyway, it works fine for different general-purpose cooking. One area it falls short in is cooking rice. Because of the flared out sides for straining stuff, steam escapes--too much for me to cook rice reliably. My solution is--as another reviewer mentioned--to place a piece of foil between the lid and pan. On the flipside, there is of course the straining function which I find great when blanching veggies real quick.I'd prefer a tight-sealing lid, but it's okay.Otherwise it heats up and cooks evenly, cleans easily and looks nice. If you don't mind that steam escapes, it's a very nice piece of cookware.

Excellent and recommended, but the handle is a step backwards
An excellent pot, very good non-stick and the sieve-replacement design, where the pot has pouring lips and the deep inside rim of the lid has holes, is superb - a brilliant idea and it works. I no longer need a sieve or collander, and given how mobile I am, that's a blessing. The one downside is the handle. I used to own original circuluons, and the handle design was better - here the safe part of the handle seemlessly fits into the unsafe part, so it's easier to accidentally touch the unsafe (and so hot) part of the handle. I never did this, not once, with the original handle design - I've done it two or three times now, over a year, with this pot.Note this is one of the smaller pots - I meant in fact to get the larger size, but made a mistake (I didn't have a ruler or measure, when I bought).Recommended, the handle issue isn't a biggie and the sieve-replacement mechanism is extremely useful (saves on washing up, too).

I LOVE POT and you will too lol
This is an awesome pot I spent hours looking for a great pot this has some of the BEST review and a cover. I was going to go for Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 1-Quart Open Saucepan with Pouring Spouts pot but that one comes without a lid and is only 1 quart. This was few bucks more and had lid and lid doubles as a strainer. I use for pasta, tea , eggs, and sauce or soup. Makes good ramen If your in college. The handle on the cover is very sturdy and more elevated so your hand is much further away from hot glass unlike with most pots. The handle is also great shape comfortable and makes straining light work. Spouts are excellent for pouring in cup or soup bowl. and when I make peas it strains well without me losing anything down the sink or having to use a strainer. if this is helpful please click the helpful link at the bottom thanks

Nice pan, BUT NOT FOR INDUCTION
I found this saucepan under induction pots and pans. To be sure I found the Meyer site in the UK. I asked if this pot was fit for induction cooking and the answer was: "The whole Circulon Contempo range is suitable for induction cooking".I live outside the US (in the Caribbean) and always use my son's POB in Miami. This is a service of our Postal Service. On arrival I was very disappointed, because the magnet I always use to test the pots' bottoms did not stick. And trying to cook water in it was in vain of course.Writing back to customs service in the UK I got the anser, that this line was induction fit in the UK, but I got the link to the US Meyer.com Co. I still have to write them, but I urge Amazon to make sure, that this product does not get promoted anymore under INDUCTION.Three stars, because of misleading info, the pot should get 5 stars for its design: right/left handed without looking for the spout. Nice glas lid, fitting well into the pot.

Their warranty service is confused
Most of the Circulon pots and pans I have purchased I have been highly delighted with. The Circulon Contempo 2qt pot is the exception. The pot itself is as good as the others in terms of quality and durability (all their pot and pans in the Contempo range, at least, have a lifetime warranty. After two years of use, the (2qt) Pot lid came apart. I discovered it was glued together rather than bolted or riveted. My warranty claim was declined because supposedly I had not completed their warranty form within 72 hrs of the claim even though I completed the online form the following morning INCLUDING 3 PHOTOS. I was informed by email of the decision.

Very nice saucepan.
This nonstick saucepan is lighter and much easier to clean than the one I've been using. The strainer sections in the lid are very handy.I forgot 2 more very good things about this saucepan: It has pour spouts on each side and they work really well, no dribbling down the side of the saucepan. The handle on the lid is straight. When you put the lid on a counter it doesn't roll around - very helpful for me.

I got it for a steal at half price!
I was thrilled to find a good circulon piece for half price here on amazon. It truly does heat evenly and no sticking, also easy to clean. The size is convenient and the handles stay cool. The straining spout is handy, good function and also easy to clean. I am thinking I might pick up a second one for myself and another to give as a gift. If you can get this at the 50% discount, grab it while the deal lasts! My sister has used this brand for years, having paid full price for every piece and still feels she got her money's worth.

Love Circulon
I love these pans so much-- I now have a saucepan, two frying pans and a sauce pot. I have a gas stove and these pans conduct heat very evenly. Even when I mess up and start to burn something (which is hard to do with these pans), I can wipe it clean with paper towels in an instant. I fried eggs for breakfast this morning with a little cheddar grated on top. I used no added fat and everything released beautifully from the pan--and no added fat or oil was needed.I hate to say that my old favorite cast iron is starting to feel left out.
